Not ideal with Froggy out but Lawton just has to stick with the basics and reliable delivery , work hard and should go all right . Good footy player in his own right so can not underestimate that he could cause some problems for the Storm as well and has recently played a bit of game time there . Doubt if Foz would be moved there if Lawton needs a bit of a rest , more like Jake or Walker but just have to see how it pans out . Really hope that Manly can aim up in defence and especially in the middle and marker defence , good kick chase . Get into the grind and do the one percenters . Can only give it their best shot and stick to the game plan and of course , huge upside in jaging a win

Lawton will play 80 minutes as dummy half. He will play his role, exactly as Des has trained him to play as our backup nine. There should be no question about either his fitness or his ability to play this role. This is the game he has been waiting to play for his entire career. He won't die wondering tonight, no way. He is up for it and will go well.

We did play the top 4 QF in 2014, 2nd v 3rd. I was there, it didn't end well!

yep but that 2014 finals series was the beginning of the end for our golden eagles, you could see the legs falling off us and we went into that series with a few players out. 2017 we scraped into the 8 but we were never going to do any damage. And 2019, both of them were big finals games and we braved it, but it's genuinely been since 2013 where we have gone into a finals game with a relatively full-strength team, on the back of a great regular season, and a big chance to secure a GF spot if we win this game.

I knew he’d play well but I certainly didn’t expect him to play every game !!

Croker has been great this year but he’s hardly going to cause Bellamy a headache whether he’s in or not.

I would think Bellyache would now have had to think about our 9 because it is now Lawton, whereas he may not have given it much thought at all if it were the Frog.
