Storm set the tone - thru Manly's soft middle

The Manly middle is near the worst defensively in the NRL and take Jake out - it is....
So slow to get up and the dummy half is already in motion as they struggle to get onside....and when there is an odd decent tackle and win contact, still allow the attacker to win the ruck and play it fast.
Bellamy as much as he is a drooling - slobbering bloodhound, is an elite coah and used the simplist easy gameplan, where even a very poor Cronulla and then a very average team tonight in St george can follow the blueprint.
Every team will follow suit and if not fixed in a hurry, will be ongoing and with the sluggish defensive players available, it seems it could be a Looong season in 25....
The 20 - 18 scoreline had suckers like myself preying for a late miracle try, or even to just hold the ball and a try seemed likely, but realistically the better side won and the score flattered Manly, in fact the winners would have been lucky to beat many NRL teams based on tonight and it was a "very inmportant" home game and still got owned in a big way.
Like every Silvertail, will stick solid and be there for every game cheering on the players and just hope some how, miracles can turn the season around and may just have to roll the dice and pick Navale and maybe look for some other options...that ofenue is available and at least would add something more than we have right now.

It should have been 18 - 0 at half time to St George, so we should count our lucky stars we made a game of it in the end.

I agree they got done in the middle the first forty and the Dragons were consistently winning field position throughout the game.

The second forty the middle did perform better, I don’t know how but it would be worthwhile looking at it again.

A chance for a couple of younger players next week with injuries and suspension change in team selection will happen, they may ignite something or it could go into further capitulation, I would prefer to see something different rather than seasoned campaigners failing each week.

Another thing was errors - the clunky attack was frustrating to watch and the sideways "go to" shift, is becoming like an attempted escape when the opposition is getting on top physically, rather than contest with grit, it's the desperation risk plays as if chasing points with 1 minute to go
I think the sideways are so familiar and their coach Flanagan even predicted the Manly shift from their own end from the opening whistle, without even contesting the wat through the middle first and this gives ascendency to the opposition every time
