Stop dropping the ball

In my experience it is difficult to play rugby league with no ball possession.

It would be good if our coach reminded them of this.

I know in the first half we has just 21% of possession. Most of that was our fault, but the ref got the Tigers rolling with a late-tackle penalty when we were belting them - and it led to the first try. After that we were appalling.

Ref definitely didn't let up against us. Not to mention there were several penalties that should have been called against the Tigers but weren't.

Nonetheless, like we have all year, we drop way too much ball. If we fixed the errors then we would have had a shot but were never really in it.

That’s it possession is the be all in the modern game if you haven’t got the ball teams will put points on
But stop dropping the ball and giving away silly penalties you give your self a chance to get back in the game the team didn’t give themselves a chance and got punished big time

My old coach used to make anyone who dropped the ball carry a ball around everywhere all week and you had to sleep with a footy as a pillow.

Absolutely need to start respecting the footy more. Maybe barrett could try that.

Yea a lot of penalties these days are nothing penalties and that’s where their first 8 points came from. But we need to hold on to the ball and that is something we have not done well for the past 2 years. We are known for shooting ourselves in the foot.Our previous history shows this as for the life of me I can’t understand how Trent has not got this into their heads.Surely they can see this.I know I can and can’t pretend I can’t. This blow up between DCE and Hastings is another shot in the foot too.

No respect for the ball in this game!! 60 percent competions made it impossible, we were too frantic and not composed today. They built pressure with ease, we kept gifting the ball back when we had them in trouble. This has been a problem for a few games now and MUST improve. Next week is about getting back to basics and doing the simple things well, not try and score off every ruck and show some patience with the ball!!

and stand a bit deeper in attack .... we are so flat ... attacking from a standing start .... when we finally have possession

I can live with dropping the ball on the 4th or 5th tackle when your putting on a play, but dropping it regularly off kick returns, scrums, 1st tackles especially after defending so much is inexcusable - swing that axe!
