Don't get me wrong I think very highly of Gibbs, I took issue with the fact you said the wrong person was kept & that Des should have punted Donny Singe to keep Gibbs happy. Maybe I read your sentiment wrong but I think that a proven premiership winning Strength and Conditioning coach is harder to replace in a club than a Doctor, albeit a very respected and talented Rugby League Doctor. My point was that medical staff are extremely important to stability of a roster but Strength and Conditioning trainers are more of an impact on winning and losing week to week, therfore I would pick Donny. Besides I don't believe that this scenario took place at all, I think Gibbs is far too professional to demand a colleagues sacking. Sounds like a Rothfield special, which i reckon was probably fed to him by a certain person that loves to make out they are best mates with all the new young players and thinks they are somehow have inside knowledge, but are actually nobody's. Apologies if I took you up wrong mate.

All good mate. I actually think Donny Singe is a fantastic sport and conditioning coach. The balance between his skills and Nathan's knowledge and qualifications was a great situation for Manly to be in. I think it's just a shame we have lost that balance now. Anyway it is what it is. Manly is set for a great year regardless. Go Manly.

My take is pretty simple .. it appears that there has been a difference of opinion regarding the training of players with injuries .. eg you can't have a Dr. saying light duties only ... and a trainer saying you only have to carry George Rose up the sands dunes 8 more times ...

Who is correct .. ? Either way, if they are not on the same page it makes the situation intolerable ... just hope we have backed the right horse ..

I actually think its his brother Sam, who apparently used to work on the door at the leagues club voluntarily. He is the one who has the knowledge with the past request of potential sponsors to buy Penns share of the club

Just like player movements so do medical/trainers move as well. Nothing lasts forever, we are now a well sought after club and will no doubt attract the right people needed here at the Sea Eagles...

Singe is a strength and conditioning coach. Gibbs has a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. He is also a Sports Medicine Specialist. Gibbs specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries associated with physical activity.

It is the appropriate prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries that potentially worries me for next season with Gibbs gone. Yes we will get another Sports Doctor for 2022. It will be interesting to see how strong their influence will be on the above. It will definitely be less then Gibbs had this season. It bothers me that we had so many injuries to key players at training this year. Just remember that Gibbs has been recognised as the best in this field.

Singe is a strength and conditioning coach. Only an idiot would try and compare them, and then claim one is more important than the other. Essentially they perform two completely different functions. Hope this helps.

Yes Sam, owns Affinity Diamonds, he was the one who put the $20M buyout offer to Penn. Was our gear steward voluntarily and still a sponsor.
