Speed - pace ??

My man Bozo will know what I mean
Even with a 2 man overlap lack the speed to burn opposition outside- damn I love this team- over 30 years after playing as a Sharks junior only dreamed of Manly...nothing has changed...but love seeing long range tries or even that threat from our own line
The blokes like Snake, Robbo, even the Wolfman?
Its sad to see us struggle with pace out wide and without Tommy T, who is already a superstar, damn we look ordinary for speed...

Slow players who get smashed. Happens every week and Tom is so good he makes people forget it. Despite his effort Parker gets absolutely smashed half a dozen times a game and is so slow - remember the intercept last year.

Garrick Elliott Croker Jorge Suli also lack speed in spades. Suli is a weapon if used properly by DCE ( rarely gets it) but the rest are simply not equipped for the modern game. The new rules are a game changer and there is nowhere to hide.

Des does not seem to have adapted to the new game and it’s requirements. Much like Ricky. Robinson, Bellamy , Cleary and co have recognize the need for speed. Cleary in particular has young quick guys replacing players you wouldn’t expect to be dropped.

We just don’t cut it right now I’m afraid in the speed and agility stakes

Love the ginger ninja but watching him at full pace is embarrassing
Jorge even slower

Spot on !!!
We have scored only 133 points in 9 games for an average of only 14.8 points a game. That does not cut it in the NRL.
The Broncos who are in crisis have scored 134 !!!
We have not scored a try from a kick all year (only team to do this) and paying a half back $1.3m to do what ?
You can talk about injuries , pathetic ref/bunker calls etc but we just have no depth to cover Turbo, Walker, AFB , and the hooker who will likely never play again.
So Des time to throw the young guns on and if we lose big deal we have just lost 3 in a row with plodders who look like they have ran last in a Melbourne Cup with heavy legs !!!

You make a good point . We cant rely and just be a one man speed team
We need to have a team of speedsters to keep up with the rest of the teams
Our back line today showed us we are on par with the slow Dogs back line
Solid defence can win close games but speed will break any game to pieces
You know what they say ?
THE FASTER YOU GO -- THE BIGGER THE MESS

Des has nothing to do with our lack of speed. We lack speed in our squad and not much in the way of speedsters were willing to sign last off season (that were worth going for)

He can pick Hopoate , Shuster and Metcalfe who leave these guys for dead in the speed stakes. Will it help? I don’t know but to say he has no speed options is simply wrong Harry. They are top 30 players and as such are there to be considered or they shouldn’t be there to start with.
You don’t know until you try and if that stuff of the last three weeks is what is keeping them out of the side then God help us.
