Speed of the game

After watching the game yesterday. I have concluded that the team is trying hard against severe odds at the moment.

To blow a lead like that and in the manner that it was lost was awful to watch.

Over the last 5 weeks the consistent thing is we have a period in a game where the other team plays fast and direct and our team just wilts in response. When Penrith upped the anti yesterday and played with speed and direction we were blown away. Penrith got stronger and stronger and they should have been done at half time with only 30 percent of the ball.

Our team has to learn to cope with adversity. Jorge Tafua scored a great try and from the kickoff he lost the ball in the play the ball and for the rest of the game we were on the back foot trying to keep up with them.

Our fitness seems to be lacking. Even last year the team could play for 80 minutes but this year we seem to play for about a 20 minute period at a time.

Things have to improve and fast!!

No we lost that game because we had no long kicker and our kick returns were non existent. Even twenty points up I said to my wife who is no footy fan and saw the score and pretended to be happy - Penrith will come back. Hurts to be right.

Our kicking game in the second half was non existent, we really did miss DCE in that period.
