Injury permitting, the following are players that are specials to be picked to start the season in first grade in 2006:

    1. Stewart
    2. Hicks
    3. Bell
    4. Alberts
    5.
    6.
    7. Orford
    8. Kite
    9.
    10. Heckenburg
    11. Menzies
    12. Watmough
    13. Kennedy (C)

    14. Williamson
    15.
    16.
    17.

Dunley, Leulaui and Bryant are likely to come into the mix, Jason King continues to get picked. If Monaghan has not left the club he may also press for a spot at 9. Matt Ballin, Adam Cuthbertson, Michael Witt may also pressure the others and Peachey and Taylor are highly regarded as is Burns.

Where are the other players going to come from??????

Glen Stewart will be around, he needs to have a bit of growth spurt in the off season though.

I guess Rose and maybe Styles will come into the mix.

    Depth is a worry.

We may not like iot but Princess will be persisted with.

Sorry Corso - as much as you hate this, I'd like to see this team:-

    01. Brett Stewart
    02. Ashley Alberts
    03. Steven Bell
    04. Steve Matai
    05. Chris Hicks
    06. Jamie Lyon
    07. Matt Orford
    08. Brent Kite
    09. Luke Williamson
    10. Daniel Heckenberg
    11. Anthony Watmough
    12. Steve Menzies
    13. Ben Kennedy

    14. Shayne Dunley
    15. Kylie Leuleuai
    16. Jason King
    17. Adam Cuthbertson

If it's not Lyon, then it will have to be Monaghan.

I never thought I'd see the day when Heckenberg was in a starting YART.

    LoL to both those responses.

Wheel I'd take him on the wing ANY day.

Imagine a winger like Scott Donald trying to tackle him one on one.

This is the team I would pick for next year at the moment, assuming we sign no one else.

    01. Brett Stewart
    02. Paul Stephenson
    03. Steven Bell
    04. Ashley Alberts
    05. Chris Hicks
    06. Monas
    07. Matt Orford
    08. Brent Kite
    09. Luke Williamson
    10. Daniel Heckenberg
    11. Anthony Watmough
    12. Steve Menzies
    13. Ben Kennedy

    14. Shayne Dunley
    15. Kylie Leuleuai
    16. Mark Bryant
    17. Glen Stewart

But I wouldnt give Monas long at 5/8 if he doesnt perform, in which case I would drop Dunners and put Willomson on the bench, Monas to 9 and bring in one of the young guns to 5/8.

It's just Monnas. He doesn't seem to fit anywhere in the team. Espescially with the money he's going to be on.

    Agree totally.

I wouldn't drop Dunley, but I'd shift Glenn off the bench for Willow and either have Monas in the nine, Burns in the six,Burns/Ballin in the six Monas in the nine.

I was watching some of the tapes from this year, Trying to erase the Sharks deal. We played well some of the time. Though they produced many a scare, we have held top 8 and that was what they wanted this year.
Looking back I would have blooded Burns at the five eight spot, always thought they never really gave him a chance there. Seemed to be out of favour.
I would try Witt on the wing and Hicks back in centre.
The other stupid think I was wondering was Hicks at five eight. It could have been worth a go, as nothing else was working.
IF ONLY WE HAD ANOTHER USEFUL WINGER TO USE.
I am rambling about what will not happen. But I have loved Manly for a long time and hate to see any team or person perform as many or most did against Sharks!!!!!! Sorry not perform!!!!!.
