Well though I respect Des for a lot of things, I'm afraid most people on this forum can select better than he can. Been saying it all season. Des, you have the WRONG selection policy. I know some will say Des knows more about the game than I do, and they are right. But most on this forum recognise he has a serious blind spot.

Someone needs to get to him and shout it in his ear. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. But why bother? He'll probably select the same general team again, and again I could feel this one coming. One game they try, the next they get towelled. Happening all season since Turbo and Walker have been missing.

Des is just not getting it and its one of the reasons I have said he's given up on the season. You dont allow two of the finest young juniors that have come along in years sit on the sideline all year. And you certainly dont loan them to another club. Anyone who doubts Des is making a real botch up here is just a little too loyal and caught up with yesterdays hero. We know he can coach when he's got the right players on the field. Its just getting them on the field that is the ongoing problem.

Despite the mixed bag from Funa tonight, I actually found myself thinking during the game that when Tom does eventually return, maybe it would actually be worth playing him at centre and Funa at the back just so that Tom doesn't have to do so much running with his dodgy hammies.

Edit: and other than when Snake was still playing, I have never thought Tom should play anywhere but fullback for Manly. Until now.

I doubt it though. When Turbo comes back he'll be straight into the #1 jumper whether its this year or next.

I totally agree, but apart from Turbo I don't see any one of our squad (not playing tonight) turning us into a top 4 contender any time soon.

We need a big clean out. And cleaning out the likes of Taufua, Elliott, Garrick, Levi etc isn't going to free up any cap space to sign significant improvements/upgrades.

We would kill for a spine like Souths right now.

Personally I hope Des tears them a new one tonight and through next week. Apart from maybe 3-4 players, they fully deserve it after that performance. They might not have given up out there, but it was full on embarrassing.

He rolled the dice on a couple of kicks when the game was dead and they came up trumps. That's good enough to remain the best halfback in the NRL around here. Another headless chook effort tonight. How about that kicking game in the first half when the game was still on the line ?? Those bombs straight down the Souths players throats about 20m too deep for our chasers were first class. He tried hard, that is the main thing, don't be too hard on him.

I’m watching Perry Mason on Foxtel. Great show.

Since I saw the result of the Warriors game I haven't been watching anymore Manly games. Obviously something isn't right in the team and hopefully some big decisions will be made at seasons end..

The roster needs a complete overhaul in the backs. Keep Turbo and maybe Suli as starters only.

Parker, Levi, Cust, and Garrick should be depth players.

Croker and Taufua need to go.

We desperately need Turbo, Fainu and Walker back. Hopefully Hoppa and Schuster are regulars come next year. They should be blooded now.

Yes. But we have a range of backs who haven't been given a chance: The Shoe, Hoppa Jnr, Jade Anderson, Morgan Harper, Metcalf, Miski and Ben Turbo. Now, even if a couple of them proved to be First Grade standard it would improve our team.

Bulls$$$ it went up no try and the evidence wasn’t conclusive. Scum bucket said it was on the line and frm the angles shown it you could not see that. It needs to be 100% sure to overturn and frm the angles shown u can’t overturn that. Did I think it was a try? Yes, but that’s not the point. U can’t overrule the call unless conclusive.
