SOUTH Sydney coach Michael Maguire will seek assurances from the NRL today over the refereeing of Sunday night’s grand final following a series of comments from his Canterbury counterpart Des Hasler which some within the Rabbitohs camp view as attempts to influence the match officials.

Hasler has been at his wily best in recent days — on three separate occasions he has spoken about the refereeing and its potential to have an impact on the game.

Maguire has been present on each of those occasions, firstly on Fox Sports’ NRL 360 on Wednesday night where the pair were guests, and then at yesterday’s grand final lunch.

By consistent he means that if Souths get behind, he wants the 5 or so piggy back calls they always get to put them on the oppositions line...

Exactly.....when 'coach' says seeks word.....he really means price!

Technical Coach said:
Yeah the refs will be consistent in having a consistently low GF penalty count.

Think you are right, bugger all penalties.

It'll just be the usual 6 forward passes missed, 15 offsides missed, 11 missed strips, along with no policing of walking off the mark and getting suckered by the national diving champions that will make it an extraordinary game to watch .

I'm going for the giant sinkhole to open and suck them all down, now that would be. " happy days"

In other words he's demanding Souffs consistent 5 penalties in a row to get them out of the sht.

Gee Des the Dogs only got into the grand final thanks to the referees gifting all the first 30 minutes of calls to set up a 16-0 lead against Manly.
