SOO 2 - 2018 Game Day - Blues Win Series

Lewis I can actually handle. Lockyer is a horrible commentator. He knows his stuff, but has no idea at all how to articulate it into words.

On the CH9 Sunday show, the subject under scrutiny was the NZ V GB game in Denver, CO.
The panel spoke about how the players found conditions tough playing a lot higher above sea level than they’re used to.
Then Darren Lockyer said,
“Is that why they call Denver mile high city?”

Freddy and Brandy looked like major West and John Robinson from lost in space in their outfits.
But I don't care if they were done up in Riddler suits with question marks all over them because they've refreshed my interest in origin along with the new players from both sides.

I'll be interested to see what QLD Mal does with the Australian team from now on.
A lot of new Blues will deserve a look in.

A lot of the blues had played for Australia before NSW,

Both Jake and Tom did.

So cannot see him changing plans much.

Lockyer is the NRL equivalent of Viv Richards with the cricket commentary. Great player doesnt always equate to a great commentator

This is a fair point that they were discussing. I was in salt lake a few weeks back and struggled with my normal exercise.

I'll be in Denver in July and imagine it will be the same

Oh okay. I doubt they had long to adjust to it, too.
BTW, July-August, I’ll be next door in Nebraska visiting the wife’s family.
No concern about altitude sickness there, haha. Though, they do go on about how flat Nebraska & Kansas are, to me it’s undulating, like country NSW.
Some parts of Australia are ‘spirit level’ flat.

You don't know flat until youve lived in the Netherlands

You want flat? Years ago I was working in outback WA, and at one stage I was sent with a mechanic, our mission, fix some bit of mining machinery that had broken down in the middle of a salt lake. It was a vehicle on caterpillar tracks and I had to get under it and do something or other, I remember squeezing out from under and sitting on the ground and looking around. I couldn't see a mountain or hill or any feature, not even a tree stump in any direction. Just flatness all the way to the horizon!

Interesting. Where was that, SER8?
Also, even if you can see a tree or a hill in the distance to use a bearing, once that shimmering heat comes up by mid morning, they disappear.
Dangerous country.

It wasn’t Lake Mackay, was it?
I did some work there once.

No I don't think it was up there but it was quite a while ago. I was based in Boulder and I recall visiting towns like Leonora, Laverton, Leinster & Meekatharra but maybe not on that same trip. Actually that whole area seemed pretty dangerous to me at the time!
