Rugby league is a very simple game in essence. Even with planned moves, the simpler ones tend to get the best results.
The Roosters pet play at the moment involves a simple decoy runner hitting the edges of the flank with a quicker player wrapping around the ball carrier which in essence draws three players in field and offers a gap for the winger to stroll through unmarked. A simple, effective play that Manly used about 20 times last year. At least.
We even did it on the same side of the field as the Roosters - the left flank.
The Storm do it as well, but they tend to do it with Slater down the right hand side of the field (refer to the Warriors game in round one for a good example).
But their best "planned move" is a cross-field kick from Cooper Cronk into the outstretched arms of Israel Folau. Hardly rocket science, but it bagged the kid 20 odd tries last year.
