Snake shares Diabetes Ball success

Great food, fantastic atmosphere and a worthy cause all came together at the Sea Eagles Diabetes Ball, with over $40,000 raised to help support kids with type-1 diabetes.

The brainchild of fullback Brett Stewart, the inaugural event was a great accomplishment and one that could very well become a tradition in years to come.

Hoping to raise valuable funds for diabetes equipment, Brett and his teammates swapped their jerseys for tuxes and took to the red carpet at the Grand Ballroom in Sydney’s Luna Park.

The food was outstanding, the entertainment was spectacular and those who attended the evening made the night all the more special.

The Sea Eagles made sure the evening’s jungle-themed entertainment would keep guests on their toes, with the Snake Lady, speed painter Brad Blaze working their magic while the high-energy Drum Beats troupe kept rhythm.

But the evening's main aim was charity and Brett was humbled by the generous support he received for his cause.

All proceeds will go towards providing life-changing equipment for children affected by Type-1 Diabetes.

On behalf of Brett, the Sea Eagles would like to thank everyone who helped make our inaugural Diabetes Ball such an immense success.

Well done Brett Stewart.

Maybe the media could post some positive stuff like the article above to show the public that in the NRL there are only a few dickheads while the majority do great things for the community.
