Site Maintenence at 1:00PM

Hi Guys,

Just a quick FYI that I will be performing some maintenence on the site at 1PM, just need to move the URL's i.e. get the site from forums.silvertails.net to silvertails.net/forum

This shouldn't take long but the site has been stubborn this morning

back on because I just thought of a way to fix it

All finished, the reason I had to make the change was to fix an issue we were having with our SEO and Google PR.

http://forums.silvertails.net was only ranking PR3 whilst http://www.silvertails.net/ was ranking PR5

Even though google says this doesn't matter they were ranking as different entities, I have now combined the two so that they should benefit from the combined PR of PR5 and PR3.

It also makes things a little easier for people who didn't realise http://www.silvertails.net existed and thought it was only a forum.

I will now start moving the tipping comp over. Enter your tips as normal and I will make a cut-off where I transfer all tips to the new system later in the week.

Hopefully it should run flawlessly 🙂

Once that is done, I am going to work on migrating the front-end of the site away from Joomla or at least the very slow and clunky version it is on. Again this will take some time but shouldn't be forever

While doing the maintenance could you please replace or at least rotate the tyres. Darren & Jace reckon they are old & worn out & we need newer models.
