Sironen a done deal...Matagi gone?

I think we are short a running, ball playing second rower.....Sirronen.

And a front line prop ( assuming Lawrence might take some time to get back to strength again)......Matagi.

Also pending the retirement of Skivvy we are short a quality centre.......Whare.

I'd suggest all 3 might come , especially if the Skivvy / Snake retirements happen.

But like everyone the ****ing suspense is killing me!!

Are you suggesting there may be method to madness?

These guys might not bleed maroon and white, but that's fine by me. As a true supporter, I don't care what colour they bleed when they're wearing our jersey. In fact, I hope they don't bleed at all. No more injuries would be great.

I still don't know why we traded Jamie.

Sironen is a crap signing IMO. Cant crack a 1st spot at the Tigers, does not bend the line in attack, soft in defence and even the Tigers fans don't rate him (I have two close mates who are diehard Tigers fans). Another Bozo signing for his old mate Siro...

The reason he doesnt play 1st grade is Taylor and him dont get on, and never have.

Yes, my theory is this.

Bozo is leading up to a massive 2018 signing blitz by just using short term full ins.

Building a team around the Turbo's and DCE.

I'm not totally on board, nor do I like some of the choices BUT I think I can see the plan.

Yeah mate I have ben thinking for a while now that we will probably go after a big name forward and a big name back for 2018. More than likely a centre and a back rower.

Yep my thoughts as well, def no Stewart / Matai then so there's 1.2 Million to splash straight away.

I think if we do secure the services of Matagi, Sirronen & Whare on top of who we already have we have a team in 2017 that can compete with any team in the competition.

I agree with Mark though that 2018 will be the year i feel we will be a serious premiership contender as after the 2017 season 3-4 fill in players (Wright & Wright etc etc) will be shown the door for another quality centre & Prop in 2018.

2018 - 2020 will be our premiership window hopefully.

Yes 2017 building year, 2018 is when we start becoming a force.

Plenty of good players available in 2018, hope we stick with the same tactic of recent years, getting younger, growing players with good futures. We have a very young side now with some great potential especially, as mark said, by 2018. But we need to stop losing young talent like gutho and solid consistent players like hiku.

I reckon Jack Bird is who we should target as our long term 6. Bloke is young, tough as nails, fast and strong. Not sure we will be able to afford him though... He has already won a GF with the sharks so I think he would be open to a move if the money was right. StG will be all over him though

So much talent will be available in 2018, I'd expect another big cleanout at the end of 2017, big year in 2018, Premiership stints in 2019-20!

Yeah he'd be a good player to get but my worry with him'd be his love for money, not a loyal player whatsoever so it'd always be a risk bringing him over. I think we should definately have a shot at him, I can see him leaving cronulla

True that.. Although didn't he shun Stg last time he signed with the Sharks due to loyalty? I thought they tried to get him back with a better offer but he stayed loyal? Could be wrong.

No I believe you are spot on there. Maybe he's grown with age. With Stewart and Matai to have both retired by then we could afford him nevertheless although there is plenty of players we could also spend it on

That's my 2018 side so far. Bird is a must IMO. He can play 2018 in the centres than in 2019 move to 5/8. Or we drop Green for Bird which I'm fine with but we have to get Bird. Next up we should throw some cash at Taumalolo, I don't think he will leave but we can try. But more realistically we should target some of these blokes so they can play in 2018 for us.

CENTRE/WING

- D Whare
- J Roberts
- J Kahu
- C Gutherson

We could be a huge chance for two or so of those names, personally I reckon we should get either Whare, DWZ or bird then go for a forward with a similar physique to hargreaves, perhaps try get paasi. It'll be a very good off season, much better then the one anyone's got this year
