Sin Bin: Only Manly players need apply

So, Blake Green gets 10 minutes in the sin bin when the team hadn't received one prior warning from the ref that there would be dire consequences for unsportsmanlike play. It cost Manly 12 points against Souffs.
Tonight I counted at least five times a Donkeys player committed a professional foul, yet the ref continued to warn Darius Boyd that he'd take action if it occurred again. Nothing!
There was third-man-in Thaiday causing yet another melee (if ever a player needs to be rubbed out for this it's Thaiday - he has so much form), several Donkeys taking Storm players out without the ball and blatant foul play.
It does reinforce how there is one rule for Manly and another for NRL's protected species, the Donkeys.
It will also be interesting to see what charge, if any, is given to Hunt for a shoulder charge which was picked up by the ref, unlike the two against Manly players in round one.

He's just not used to playing for a team that is actually penalised for foul play.

Agree we cop the rough end of the pineapple across the board, but the Green indiscretion was lucky not to be a penalty try on top of the bin....100% certain try.
Generally we do cop double standards so still happy to support your thread and call those refs ripoff f**ks.

The problem with the NRL and the refs has always been, its not the penalties they blow but the penalties they let go.

Its so easy to dismiss the should haves and the could haves , as just part if footy yet crucify the same teams week in, week out.

All teams and fans want is a fair go but we all know its not the way. Its why over recent seasons the feelings from fans has progressed from incompetent to corrupt when the discuss the game.

Yep, agree with the decision but what amazes me is that there was a blatant one in Cows/Broncos game.
Hess took out Alex Glenn but because Darius scored there was no ramifications, not even a caution.
I don't get that just because they scored he's not sin binned, we coughed up 12 points in the time Green was off the field and the damage was done but Hess stays on and the Cowboys in there enough to get the win.
So if Darius doesn't score surely Hess would have gone to the sin bin, yeah?

There were several occasions when a Donkey illegally tackled a Drizzle who would have scored.
Mind you, I think there should be a 5-minute sin bin so that it can be used more often and not have such a dire effect on the game's outcome. How long have we been advocating this? Yet the NRL refuses to listen, and most rule changes are not nearly as sensible as the 5-minute bin.

i agree with the 5 min sin bin 100%, i also agree there should have been a few last night... but the storm and broncos are a protected species and we all know this.... but 14 other nrl teams gotta deal with it too, its not a conspiracy against manly as the thread title suggests...

i understand we are losing and everyone wants instant success, but the constant cop outs is getting a bit old.... everyone hates manly because sustained success brings the hate, but the minute we start losing the fans grab every single excuse possible except the one thats true... the team is a below average team.. apart from dce the turbos and maybe walker and taupau, the team is full of has beens or never was's with a few rookies sprinkled in....

everyone will still hate manly, but i fear the more this goes on it will be because they all view the fan base as a bunch of whingers who would rather blame injuries/suspensions/refs/greenberg/ and whatever else they can blame instead of the actual poor performances the team puts forth

News just showed it, it was Slater who kicked, went to get the inside pass but was tackled by Milf instead

The Green sin binning only happened after a Souths player told the ref that he should be binned. The ref gave the penalty and that was going to be it.
The worst thing with the refs is the number of discretionary penalties that they give against Many. There were two against Lawrence last week where he was off the tackled player within a couple of seconds but was penalised. These penalties can change a game especially when given late in the tackle count.

Not sure if anyone saw it but turbo was almost certain to score last week. Perfectly weighted kick saw sam burgess under the ball with both feet planted and stationary. Tommy had his perfect run cut when cody walker saw it he took his eyes off the ball and planted his shoulder into turbo as he left the ground to catch the ball.
That grub ref who binned green saw it and did nothing. It was a clear binning and a penalty. Souths scored 3 tries in the next 10 minutes.

When was the last time we won a penalty count. When was the last time we won ine at brookie.
