I'd implement the RU option of charging down a conversion.
Currently, conversions are usually boring. The kicker has plenty of time and has no distractions, and the conversion rate is high. But, imagine if Saab, Koala and other speedsters were able to charge forward once the kicker had taken his first step...
The drama would add an edge to the spectacle, and make the result a little less predictable.
Thoughts?

Only if the ball is 'live' if they charge it down, like in NFL. In the NFL if a team charges the ball down from a goal attempt, they can run it back up field for a touchdown (2 points i think).

The NRL rule that should be changed is that the charge down in general play should not restart the tackle count. Why give the kicking team a reward. In fact, I would stop giving 'six again' for any momentary touch of the ball by the defence.

How about a shot clock, if they don’t kick it within a minute of try being scored they loose the kick and two potential points

I hate when a ball is kicked dead or caught on the full in goal and the player sprints up to the 20 taps with the ball and runs without stopping. It should be a quick break to allow both teams to get back into position.

NRL should ban all teams that call themselves, the Storm, the Broncos, the Roosters, the Rabbitohs and of course, the Eels. @:p

That will bring the competition back to a nice even number and allow each team to play a for and against every other team each year.

I'd like to see more incentive for staying at the same club.

Unless your name rhymes with frooks, of course. I'm very happy with that move.

if a player is tackled in their ingoal or forced dead etc. than a drop out from the 25. this will make it harder for an attacking team to get repeated sets and rewards the defensive team for keeping them out

I think there should be less points for tries scored from kicks. It would force more creative last tackle options instead of the lottery aerial ping pong.

There'd be a lot of false starts from other teams when Rubes is kicking, that's for sure. @:D

I hate when players push there team mates away from touch or in goal. May as well bring back the wedge

Make it 5 points for a try and one point for conversion. Would mean more odd scores and possibly less draws. Teams who score tries in the corner after great backline moves are disadvantaged with a tough conversion compared to teams who score through a simple play from dummy half. With our backline would benefit us.

I'd certainly rather see a try in the corner from a good backline move than a jump in the air contest.

This wouldn't be a simple rule change.
Would the kick have to be to a corner? Who judges how wide a corner is?
What about a kick leading up to a try? Do we allow that?
Is it only a bomb or do we include grubber kicks? On this issue, I see a lot more skill with a leap-and-catch then a grubber that breaches the defensive line and is fallen on by at attacker.

Yep, it becomes a bit subjective and to be honest, I know it would never happen but it just irritates me. I'd much prefer to see teams running the ball than mindlessly throwing up kicks to corners for a jump a thon. And frankly, the whole "escort" thing is also very inconsistent.

But hey, if Sabb and whoever ends up on the other wing, score a try in the GF this year from a kick, I dare say I won't be complaining. @:D
