This is the state of our team.
 
Truth:
1) I’m watching less footy than I’ve ever watched in my life (only manly game)
2) it’s hard to watch, not because of the penalties, I don’t mind the crackdown, I hate the lack of consistency
3) I actually prefer watching the swans because I at least feel like the umpires don’t decide the result in afl.
4) I’ve never seen a time when momentum has had a bigger impact on rugby league and for me that is mostly the result of no. 2

If they are putting in and losing, fine.
But these guys have placed the cue in the wrack mate.

They've quit.

Clubs lost it's soul and culture.

I'm fine with watching a losing team if they have pride and passion. In fact, even the players and coaches this week admitted they didn't have it, so it's not just me randomly slinging mud.

These guys don't deserve to wear that jersey.

Truth as well: I'm not going to Brookie this Saturday, because I find the entire vibe flat, the ground announcer grating, the players apparent lack of interest in understanding the Manly culture and on field crap efforts appalling and I have no faith in the coach, captain, trainers, or the silent owners
Truth also: I wish it wasn't this way and its not about losing although that doesn't help - its more about the lack of effort throughout the club

Certainly understand your thoughts mate, the only thing I’ll question is a lack of effort throughout the club. Happy to question the effort of the players - we can see that on field, but I don’t think anyone on here would know how much or little effort coaching and club staff are putting in.

I’m not saying whether they’re doing a good job or not - that is absolutely debatable, but I don’t think we can sit here and say there is a lack of effort throughout the club. There could be staff busting their backsides but it obviously isn’t showing on field.

Most.of the players and coaches agreed there was an attitude and effort problem. If they can admit.it themselves, why can't we as spectators acknowledge it?

Fair point, although a bit nit picky as well. The on field non performance of the players must begin off the field. There are rumours that that trainer, bearded overweight dude is a dead loss, and have to say after Donny Singe and the legendary status he seemed to have - well it's a worry. Is Cartwright putting in? Doubtful. Where's Gorman - do we actually have a CEO? Why is Penn so silent? See what I'm getting at?

Not talking about the players mate. I acknowledged that. I don’t think you’ll find anywhere or anyone quoted as saying that staff are lacking effort.

Our overall performance in recent times has been an embarrassment. And I'm not talking about the team, I'm talking about us, ST! Sure the team is bad but that's no excuse. When ST first kicked off I'm pretty sure that too was during a time the team was struggling bigtime.
Long term members may correct me, but my impression is that the ST culture back then was to rip the team or players (or each other) mercilessly but more with humour insight and wit, rather than with furious venom or contempt that we've been dishing up. Its about time we showed the ST equivalent of ripping in and playing for the jersey.
After all, we are not bunny dog or Eel fans. If they log on to ST they would be laughing at us. Yes, them, laughing at US!!
So let's stop acting as though our very lives are at stake and depend on a bunch of young professional boofheads. Come on, show some pride in our performance!!

Mate completely see what you are getting at. Me personally I can absolutely question the effort of the players because it’s visible. I can’t question the effort of staff because I don’t see it - We certainly can question whether what they are doing, no matter their effort, is actually working though.
