Parker? Parker got off lightly from Bozo compared with poor Lachie Croker. Was before your time here but he once referred to Croker as "the cancer in the side" when he was a kid in his first year at Manly.

Croker of course has gone on to rack up 150 NRL games, even winning Manly's best & fairest a couple of years ago, but these days he's definitely attained the status of a gold-plated Silvertails whipping boy.

I can't agree about Willo. I think there've been more deserving whipping boy contenders than Williamson.

One of the first that came to mind is Chris Bailey, who surely warranted it. Another one is James Hasson and of course Lewis Brown.

Yep, although to me 'whipping boy' makes me think of the player that tends to conveniently cop the blame for a loss ... regardless of whether it was actually their fault!

One of his brothers played for us as well, right? Ben? And I think Paul then had a career in administration with the QRL.

Thing is, I always liked him as a player. Always thought he did his best for the club during some pretty lean years. But, like most of the site's whipping boys, people expected him to be more than he was.

Sam’s currently training with the Titans top crew over summer. They’ve got big wraps on him at the Titans.
