MATCH review committee chairman Greg McCallum believes the NRL will have little option but to impose penalties above those prescribed by the committee in the wake of the violent match between this season's best-performing sides at Brookvale Oval on Friday night.

ALL media outlets are calling for Blair and Stewart to be outed for the season. It doesn't look good for them...[hr]
And there needs to be consistency as well if this is the case. Any brawl in origin will also need to be dealt with harshly as well. If they come down harshly they have set the precedent

"Hayne could argue that no referee had control over any player who might decide to saunter off the field to continue the battle." What about Blair running to catch up???

It was hardly violent at all, origin 3 was alot worse

Agree that there needs to be consistency as they allow alot more in Origin and different rules for club games. So if they ban a number of players after this incident, will they do the same for Origin? I doubt very much.......

This is the same guy who said "players just sometimes fight, it's rugby league" after giving no punishment to the players in Origin 3 2009.

Channel 9 commentators aren't, at least not Fittler, Johns, Warren & Geyer. TK was the only one carrying on about heavy penalties.

Excatly right, if this was a State of Origin, it would eb a classic.

We all know TK as an imbosile and anti Manly and Tallis is just a knob also.

Wait till we hear from Laurie Daley...and Roy masters, imagine his spin on it....

Get over it media wankers and get on with footy...The thing that actually pays your wages
