I wonder who the unnamed club is?

The Mole: Rival NRL club weighs up audacious bid to poach premiership coach Shane Flanagan from Dragons

A rival NRL club is interested in poaching Shane Flanagan from the Dragons.

Flanagan is contracted to coach the Dragons for another two seasons but the other club - and no, it's not the Tigers - is keen to sign him up for 2026.

A third party is set to make contact with Flanagan's management in coming weeks to see if there is any interest from the former Sharks premiership-winning coach.

Ironically, the team concerned hasn't been travelling too badly but the committee and chief executive believe the club needs a change of direction and a fresh face to mentor its players.

Flanagan took over as head coach of the Dragons last season and the club finished just one win out of the finals.

But the Dragons face a massive task improving on that next year after losing their two main men - star halfback Ben Hunt and brilliant centre/winger Zac Lomax.

Flanagan is a drug cheating ,salary cap cheating one time winner, who should of been stripped of the title.
We all have our strengths and weakness
Flanos Strengths is that he is super competitive
He is ruthless about getting results and has a burning desire to win
His weakness was that he was burned by his burning desire to win when we got carried away with his indiscretions

Yeah , you say it like it's a bad thing. Cronulla fans and players will never forget . What a moment for a club.

Unfortunately thats life, need to push and cheat in a push and cheat industry, just try not to get caught like everything else in life. Dont want to be the last one in the pool holding the rule book

Manly were champions for decades because we were the most ruthless. Now we have been tamed,

@BOZO . Did you like this buddy, thought of you .

Ps i would have said it for free mate ….but thanks , 😂

Thank you for that Passionate Win at all cost post feathered friend
To win at all cost we must break the Losing cycle and this is what Flanno did

It is Official and on Record that Cronulla has recorded their Historic Premiership win
Flanno paid the price but his Historic Premiership Winning achievement was Priceless

NRL .COM
Cronulla have ended a half-century premiership drought with a heart-stopping 14-12 grand final win over a valiant Storm outfit to claim the 2016 NRL Telstra Premiership – the first in the club's history.
And the Rest is History !

Seibold is about to be extended, so not relevant gossip whether Flanagan wants out of Dragons already.

If Seibold extends we are extending our premiership Winning drought
Just my honest opinion and this is what our Manly forum is for

Seibold arrived and inherited Des Haslers team & year 1 they performed poorly, at the end of that year there was a fair changeover in the roster.

Year 2 , we made the finals , played very well in game 1 , and very poorly in game 2 to end the season. And at the end of that year there wasn’t much of a changeover, probably lots to do with existing cap issues than wanting better players. There were also some smart pickups in young , emerging players with an eye to the future of the spine.

Year 3 ( 2025) the expectation from the fans , and also the media , is we are a top 4 team and if the defence can be fixed this is a real possibility.

This is year on year improvement, exactly what you want from a coach.

Sacking Seibold , and his football department will do nothing other than put us back years because let’s face it , we aren’t attracting Craig Bellamy & his system as the replacement.

If Mestrov is smart ( and I think he’s the best CEO we’ve had for years ) he’ll only sign Seibold if there’s KPI’s in the contract OR Seibold waits , proves he can get us to top 4 , and then signs a bigger , longer contract.

Is Seibold one of the top coaches ??

Probably not , but he’s no where near as bad as some on here make out.

If I was a punting man on this loose rumour I'd say Newcastle would be my pick.

Maybe Cowboys as an outside pick.

Sacking Siebold will definitely do something as change Always brings change . Always !
We may not attract a Bellamy but we may unearth a Brilliant up and comer
All Great coaches were once unknown Brilliant up and comers
Who are they ? The smart operators know

As for Seibold being No where near as Bad
No where near as Bad is not Good enough High standards at Manly
If Mestrov was smart he would have found a better choice

I hope I am proven wrong because I love nothing more than Manly Winning a Comp
But I do not see a Winner in Seibold
The longer our Premiership Winning drought . The longer our Manly pain and sufferance
