Seriously

Cleary would love to have DCE in the halves with his son
He would love to have Turbo , Koula , young Hoppa and Saab in his back line
He would love to have Haumole , Jake and Paseka in his pack
I also reckon he could also get the best of the rest of our Manly players

I doubt Koula or Saab would be of interest to them... the riff have always had strong players in their outside backs... Lehi maybe but would need to bulk up I reckon...

Turbo definitely, DCE for sure (similar player to Luai), Guac yes, and, of course, Froggy 😉

Nil.
Penrith have beaten 4 different clubs to win 4 Grand Finals. Our highest aim is to be the 5th.
But realistically impossible with the players and coach we have.

Can’t see us getting close for 10 years plus
Our roster is a mess and until players retire or our squad is more balanced we won’t be anywhere near the GF.
Yesterday for me was a very stark reminder of how far we are off the pace as a club.

What players in Manly would make the team at Penrith?

Players like Charlie Staines, Luke Garner and Paul Momirovski are no superstars but they are premiership winners at Penrith.

Scott Sorensen played under 40 games in 8 years before he went to the Panthers, now is a 4-time premiership winner.

There would be quite a few Manly players who would make first grade there, but you'd need to make sure that they play with Penrith's mentality and structures (rather than just take them as-is).

We have plenty of players with enough ability to win a competition.

It's HOW we play that is the issue. Our defence, especially, is not organised well enough. I remember watching the "Pepsi" teams of the 90's. The opposition would have repeat sets on our line and I would have ultimate faith we'd handle them.

I haven't had that sense for many many years.

Unless we get players taking huge unders ( eg Yeo) to stay and play for a premiership, it’s not happening.
There were 8 players in that side last night that lost to the Storm in 2020. As they sat dejected in the dressing room after their 26-20 loss, the pact was made by Ivan that the only way around the salary cap was to play for less, to ultimately be the best. Ivan is 4-0 so far.

Alamoti was a turnstile last year for the Dogs, and a really average centre. He's just won a premiership. It's their system, it isn't the players. Obviously potential plays a factor, but I can't imagine the Panthers being unwilling to take all of the following:

Turbo
Koula
Garrick
Hopoate
Brooks - especially with Luai gone
DCE - same as above
Paseka - they would make him a monster
Haumole
Bullemor
And maybe even Saab.

Exactly. There was also a time during the choc/snake/kite/king era where we would punish teams with defence as well. One game vs dogs I think it was they didnt get out of the half for the 1st 40mins.

We actually have a pretty good roster. There’s a lot of talent and experience in there. And I’m somewhat hopeful we can go pretty well next year because we’ve kept basically the same players. Not saying we’ll win it but I reckon we’ll go better than this year. Here’s hoping anyway

Hyperbole IMO.

The current penrith roster is not as strong as the last few years.

But their core superstars, culture, coaching and system make this team a force to be reckoned with.

Alamoti couldnt make the ordinary Bulldogs last year, Garner, Eisenhuth and Sorenson were fringies at the Tigers and Sharks respectively and Schneider couldn't make the Raiders.

They are all playing well and contributing.

You think if you gave the Clearys and that system Turbo, Haumole DCE, Jake and Paseka in their places that they wouldnt be humming.

Madness.
