separate posts vs edited posts

Just wondering - I have seen occasions where a poster has two consecutive posts in the same thread, one straight after the other.

Whenever I try a new comment in the same thread, unless someone else has posted in the meantime it comes up as just an amendment to the first post, instead of a separate post.

As you can see I am deeply concerned about this weird phenomenon 😀

Is there an explanation?

I think Dan has set it up so that if a new post from the same poster is done within 60mins then it is added to the previous post with a line in between. This doesn't happen, as you say, when another poster has made a subsequent post after yours. No idea why it is set up that way but it has been for a long time.
