Seibold presser ..

Why?

2 years ago Dogs were spoon with the worst D in the comp.
Ciraldo becomes the Coach the same time Seibold became Manly coach.

We have treated water at best. What have the dogs done? Besides base their entire game on defence - something Seibold seems to think is overrated 🤔

But a direct comparison makes no sense right 😆
Maybe I misinterpreted apologies, I think Seibold is getting roasted is a bit of a stretch especially in comparison to how Manly started the season,i was very impressed with their wins at the start of the season until DCE decided to do what he did then it clearly rocked the boat, just my two cents on it

Some players tried hard. The fight in Gazza Garrick and Burbo Ben is something I'd like to see regularly.

Something just doesn't look right with this group thou.

I think the DCE news just still has people flat.

Might be more happening behind the scenes we don't know about.

But something's up, U can see it, blokes just seem a long long way off their usual selves.

How is he getting roasted.
Almost as important as coaching is man management.
All your comments do is reinforce that Spoonys man management is poor.
The whole season is going down hill now because of DCE?

A decent coach can get around that issue - he'll even poor coaches like Benji have got past worst in the last few weeks.

But with Spoony and his followers, it's not his fault it's DCE, it's the schedule, it's injuries blah blah blah.

Please, bring out the violins.

You are virtually agreeing that Seibs is not up to the head coach job.

Our attack is fine
No it's not.
The attack was what killed us v Sharks. Passing to no-one, passing to a player with an opponent already on top of him, giving up possession repeatedly. At halftime Manly had completed 11 sets to Sharks 18.
We made a comeback but then more of the same.
In attack this was not the slick, focussed, confident Manly I saw destroy the Cows and Raiders.
almost as though they've been distracted by something?

So your view is to win 32-30, not be a good defensive team.

Only one team has ever won the NRL with that approach and they couldn't make the semis the following year.

The facts are, we let in 3 soft tries in the last 15 minutes to lose the game. But, yea it was our attack that let us down.

It was equally our mistakes when coming out of yardage and the forwards not doing the tough carries. In the first we were barely in their attacking zone to be able to use our weapons.

Yeah, that infuriated me at the time and still infuriates me now.

I remain on the fence about Seibold. Basically, I think our senior playing group is full of habitual losers. Some of them are great players, some of them are great blokes, but they are used to losing and are way too ready to accept it for my liking. They are too comfortable, and rarely held accountable. Until they are gone, the bad habits that have killed this team for over a decade will likely remain.

[Looking at the above paragraph, that sounds a little more… blunt than I would have liked. But I'm not sure I can phrase it any better.]

Seibold came to the job with baggage of his own, but I reckon he was saddled with a lot more of it when he arrived. Which is why I've been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. But this already looks like another lost season and he has to feel like his time is running out.
Agree with all that. I think there are a couple of win-at-all-costs guys in the team - Tom and Jake, but Tom is busted and Jake just doesn’t have the skill set for today’s game. The rest are more go-with-the-flow types. That’s why I admire what Gould has done with the Dogs - they clearly had a recruitment plan to attract a certain mentality of player. We just seem to take what gets offered to us by player managers.

Attacking kicks were garbage too. Need to sort that out.

Tom & Jake win at all costs team players? 😂😂😂😂…..yeah ok!

Do you think Manly have looked pretty subdued for years now? I feel like other sides get excited and play with lots of fire and passion and Manly just look mid. We used to be full of fire in the belly; Watmough and Foran were two of the biggest competitors in the NRL.

Maybe, maybe not, but at least Bennett and Bellamy would be doing something. Our coach doesn’t seem to have any answers or plans.
Agree

That said you can’t even really mention Bellamy and Bennett in the same breath as Siebold. They are probably a couple of only a few coaches that could go into any struggling club and shake things up in a list without collateral damage.

This is what changed -
DCE nuked any connection the team had.
Turbo blew a rod and has come back a lame duck
We lost our middles meter eaters Paseka and Aloiai.
Just on Aloiai… has he ever put together more than a few games for us over the last 400+ years he’s been here?

I figure he and Tissue Tom spend plenty of time together rehabbing? 🤷‍♂️

I never implied the whole season was done for, I dont believe any coach could have handled the DCE situation even if Bellamy was in charge given how important he's been the last decade +

What I meant was that our attack was clunky and that meant we coughed up way too much possession, which put our defence under huge stress.
In the end it was too much stress.
We had held the Sharks to 2 tries in 60 minutes but then the errors in attack came back and the game went out the window.
