Seibold presser ..

Flanno does it after every Dragons loss. I've seen Bellamy be pretty frank on a few occasions. He doesn't typically call out individuals but he will say that things are not up to standard though. However, when you win 90% of games, it equates to 2-3 times a season which as you suggest, is not much more than once or twice.
So one , maybe two of all the coaches?

This is our perspective on why supporters feel this way
We bother watching for Inspiration
We all Look for Inspiration from our Leaders
When we Repeatedly keep hearing how proud our coach is from our substandard and disappointing loses . We lose confidence in his ability to come up with something more Inspiring
Mate you are crazy thinking there is any value in a NRL mandated press conference especially straight after a game when it is difficult to have a proper view on a game

I can’t belive the press conference and once again our fool of a coach stated the following:

“I was really proud of our effort and fight”

is this idiot delusional??????

He needs to be sacked if he’s proud of that crap

As I said , After a Loss we turn to our leaders for Inspiration
At the Press conference coaches are given this opportunity
It is only difficult to get that Inspiration from coaches who are not capable of giving it
Praising Losses does nothing for the Image of our Great Manly club or Inspire Passionate Manly people that turn up to see our Team win .

It would be better if our coach tried to Inspire our players to win before the fight
Rather than pump them up after a loss when the fight is well and truly over

No one is really proud of seeing Manly Go down at the end of the game
Accept for our Head Coach

Look at Seib's situation. DCE debacle and there is no way DCE is as committed anymore. Tom on 1.2 and Paseka on 900k out. Literally the two best players not playing. Tom for years. Your star halfback focused elsewhere. 5 seasons plus of not having a decent hooker. How many years of not having a decent left sided second rower. Big slow props who are stuck in the 90's. Season over.

Paseka 900K? Think you’re way off there, not that that takes away from your point

@BOZO you're living in the past ....

Show me when coaches “rip into their players”. Any long term coach will not do it more than once or twice

These press conferences are a duty for coaches and in no way reflect what they say to the players behind closed doors

Why you bother watching them amazes me
I disagree. It’s not necessarily about ripping into them. Although I have seen coaches do that. It’s about holding the players accountable. And not just behind closed doors. The members (like me) and fans are deeply invested in our club. We want and deserve to see and hear a coach who holds the team, OUR team to account and to a high standard. What he said in that, and MANY other press conferences, is not holding anyone to high standard. It would be very easy to respectfully say something like “today that was not good enough from our team. Our attack was poor and we need to fix it. I am accountable as coach and I will hold the players accountable as well”. Simple. Respectful. Forthright. Realistic. Not banging on about proudness etc. I’ve heard NFL players and coaches say this sort of thing constantly. I’m sorry, but his style reflects a generation of snowflakes (not saying he himself is) where no one can be told the truth and criticism is a taboo. I’ve been saying it since seibold arrived.

All true. Problem is it’s his team. He’s had 3 years in charge. Plenty of coaches deal with injuries to major stars.
