Sean Keppie

As i said in my post "At the moment". I have immense pride in the fact we haven't gotten the spoon but seriously with the way the team played this year we were just lucky not to get it, not through grit and effort to avoid it (Defensive effort is what keeps you in games and we were stone motherless last)

Combined on field and off field THIS season we were/are a bigger basket case then them, not many would disagree with that comment. Any player looking to come to our club would feel the same until there was some certainty in the coaching staff, salary cap issues and a clear plan going forward.

No doubt an ordinary season, in fact the word "Pathetic" springs to mind.

Have seen Manly have poor seasons many times and come back to Premiership contention 2-3 years later - at Eels, simply does not happen.
I do agree 2018 was a total rabble on/off the field, but not sure much worse than MOST other clubs.

You see as a 40+ year Manly supporter, I have found the media will go into overdrive to highlight any issues at Manly, while other sweetheart teams have the sh** swept under the rugs, but they are still there.
In actual fact you will find every club has in house blowups, indiscretions, pranks ect.....this Manly team were probably not much worse than the Legendary Premiership winning teams, difference was we had a bloke named Ken Arthurson in charge who kept any problems inside the Manly walls to be dealt with, unlike what we have today.

To get things back on track.....

I know little of Sean Keppie.

Is he quick ? At the moment, you could time our wingers with a calendar.
We need pace and we need it now.

Is he ready for first grade or is he another with "potential". We seem to buy a few of these guys and when they turn out to be useless, we cut them.

Yeh I’m pretty sure both Faatui and Mau both at Blacktown. Looking forward to seeing how both play against men.

Speed is probably the number one assett an athlete can have, and I deffinately agree that Tarrant’s leg speed is not his strong point, but neither is Jake Trbojevic’s. Players adapt their game. Tarrants game revolves around a high work rate, defense and aggression, don’t know if that’s enough to get him to the next level. I have been surprised in games where Tarrant does seem to possess some speed after winding up and then others where he plods into the line. Seems he can move it’s the off the mark acceleration that is the problem. Cust and Faatui are the same. Keppie isn’t any quicker but he offsets this with footwork. His detractors have also referred to him as a plodder. Shaun lane?

Martin was an all in action type of player like a Watmough. Agree that going forward with his size injuries and on field discipline may have been a problem however his footwork and acceleration were a huge asset in his game. Would have like to have seen him develop a bit more here.

If he plods like Shaun Lane he'll do me ... SL our joint leading try scorer

A lanky front rower, built more like a back rower....seen little of him but looks a solid defender which many youngsters lack.
Not a Massive standout, but hard working forward and a goer....definitely not a winger.

For some reason I thought he was a winger.

Doesn't change the fact that we are DESPERATELY in need of pace.
