I was at that game. It wasn’t much chop, however Manly were without Vautin, Cleal, Hasler and Close, who were all on Australian duties in NZ. I recall thinking that Manly really missed Hasler’s ‘scrambling’ in and around the ruck.

On the day it felt like more people were there than is evident from the video.

Jeff Butcher’s only first grade premiership appearance.

The wooden bench seats were looking good, they were only about 15 years old back then. The ones that are left are now 54 years old. Shame on Manly. Shame on Council.
