It was so frustrating when we lost our connection with the Sunshine Coast because the NSWRL were pricks. We had such a healthy relationship with them and it was producing NRL ready talent.
Not sure about producing NRL ready talent - did any of their players graduate to NRL at Manly (or elsewhere)? We sent some of our up and comers there for experience but I can't think of any produced there who ended up coming to Manly.
I think that was Greenturd again doing his best to undermine us.
God what a stain on the game that useless lick spittle was. The architect of so many of our troubles over that 2010 -2017 period
@eaglebuzz is right it was reported that the NSWRL blocked them from being a feeder club for a NSW side, not Greenberg or the NRL/ARLC. Don't know of any NSW teams that have feeder clubs in Qld.

Not too sure of the overall benefit of such a connection , maybe a bit more exposure of the Manly brand but in terms of player development [ or mutual ] could have some restrictions there .
Could be mistaken but thought that i noticed some time ago that Manly were trying or did actually organize some link with a N Z regional R L set up .
If this eventuated , would probably offer a lot more upside

Diabolical stuff, Castleford are woeful. That's a red card for sure.
Maybe we can trade Parker and Woods for some of their young up and coming players
Woeful clubs become woeful because all their up and coming players find a more successful environment

I notice at the end of the article they say the relationship with blacktown is strained.
Loved to see the leagues club run a NSW cup side based out of the peninsula like they have with the side choc coaches

I'm not sure about the pathway of talent from them, what I mean is that the experience our up and comers (e.g. Hodkinson, DCE) got was far better preparation for First Grade than we are getting now from Blacktown.
