I read on foxsports that Bulldogs greats are calling for Sonny to be loyal to the club.

They are offering him 500k a season for 3 years. For him to be looking around after an offer like that shows that offers elsewhere must be rediculously high.

It'll be interesting to see who gets his signature and what other tallent they have in the club because a price bigger than that will bring you close to the salary cap no matter who you are.

He is not worth $500k in my opinion. Some will say you are worth whatever you can get but if Manly offered him that much I would not agree with the decision.

stupid amount to be offering, to a 10 - 15 game a year forward - thats about 500 a minute that he is on the field

Manly chief executive Grant Mayer, who is on the hunt for a marquee back-rower to replace inspirational lock Ben Kennedy, summed up the feelings of many clubs when asked about recruiting Williams.

"No chance," he said. "He's a fantastic player and we'd love to have him in our team but the money they're talking about for Sonny Bill is well and truly out of our reach."
