Sam Walker Quits Broncos to Join The Roosters

Watch for Ben to be a coaching director at easts shortly. Not cap related, not a third party. He’s a decent coach so all kosher.

Spewing, my mates son who gives me all the goss on the next big thing, has found love, and is touring the globe as we speak. Damn young love!:h:

Realistically who cares. Broncs are stacked titans are paying overs to Taylor and have Brimson. Roosters get take whomever they like. We have Cust and DCE and a couple of competent back ups and if schuster sticks around we will have a back row that won’t need permission to put on Points.

The media today is searching far and wide for filler. Don’t worry about the junior stuff it rarely comes to fruition.

Queensland under-18s young gun Sam Walker has quit the Broncos to sign a $300,000 contract with the Roosters in one of the richest deals for a 16-year-old in Australian sport.

17 years old... 150k a year..... what could possibly go wrong?

....................................

Ben Walker said his son, a Roosters fan since his youngest days, is staying level-headed.

“I remember he had a Roosters poster on his wall.

“I only ever saw him lose his cool once and that was when the Rabbitohs beat the Roosters on the bell one night and he stormed off to bed and wouldn’t talk to anyone.

“So it’s ironic he is going to the Roosters now.”

---- That's not irony.

So he had a roosters poster and reacted to one loss. Yeah that makes him a dyed in the wool one-eyed roosters fan and now a roosters junior. :wasntme::sick:

They have told Kyle Flanagan that if he doesn’t want to sit behind Johnson he is welcome to come and fill Kearys boots prior to June 30

I suggest people watch this kid play. We all sit around wrapping Burbot and Schuster and co and talk about them like they are certain NRL legends of the future and how they should be straight into our top 30 next year yet this kid owned a SOO game where Qld were streets ahead of the young blues while Schuster and Jurbot were decent but didn’t really shine. And I’m a huge wrap on Schuster. He will be a gun.

The Cutters who beat us in the 18s were destroyed in the National championships and he is the stand out kid in that age group and they look to have a lot more young talent than the blues.

Seen this kid a lot and he is way ahead of other young playmakers. Nik has been courting Ben Walker for ages. Everyone knew he was to be a rooster.
And not there to play second fiddle biding his time. He’s there because they think he’s the next big thing and a lot of people agree with him.
He’s very much like Jai Arrow in attitude. No Ash Taylor about this bloke.Dont be surprised if he’s starting half next year with Keary.

He is still only 16 years old though, so no chance of being their starting half next season.

Unless of course, he turns 17 soon amd so could get a run late in the season....

That surprises me thought he was almost 18

Really. Thought he was almost 18. That does rule him out next season then. He’s a tough kid. He’ll be ready for first grade as soon as he qualifies. I haven’t seen a better half up here at his age.

Yeah, he was interviewed on Triple M in Brisbane this morning. He was on his was into sit a year 12 maths exam and they commented on the fact he is 16 years of age.

Has to be turning 17 this year, but rules him out early in the year.

Unless they got it wrong and he was too polite to correct them!

Geeze it must be good to have the coin to front end all these 18yo kids then pay them peanuts when they reach first grade.

The Titans have signed Gold Coast junior and current Brisbane Broncos and Souths Logan Magpies halfback Tanah Boyd effective immediately.

Boyd, a former Queensland Under-18 and Under-16 representative has signed until the end of 2021 and will be included in the club’s 30-man NRL squad.

“It is a great opportunity for me, and I am really looking forward to getting started,” Boyd said.
