Sam Kasiano......

One thing's for sure, if anyone can whip him into shape its Donny :giggle:
Great point.
He had gorgeous George firing and didn't change his body shape too much so I guess he can get them fit without all that .

They got him into shape at Melbourne but, as others have noted, he then could barely make a dent.
Pretty sure Des used him in very short bursts only, whether that is a rotation that will suit our squad in 2019 I have no idea.

Probably not required guys. We need 2 wingers more in my view as our biggest need:

08. Addin Fonua-Blake
09. Apisai Koroisou
10. Marty Taupau
11. Joel Thompson
12. Curtis Sironen
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Manase Fainu / Trent Hodkinson
15. Kelepi Tanginoa
16. Taniela Paseka
17. Corey Waddell
Agreed we need wingers but if im the coach i need a prop on the bench with energy and a prop with aggression.

Tanginoa has the energy and Paseka has neither.

Some are forgetting that Paseka has only just turned 21. For a forward, he has several years to reach his peak. I'd stick with him. Big, solid, athletic and quite fast, just needs a few years of development. I suspect he'll be a better player in '19

According to media reports he's surplus to requirements at the Storm & they're looking at offloading him?? Not sure if he would be worth a shot?? Still only 28.......wouldn't be too bad a proposition coming off the bench. Sure would give us more front row firepower!! Taupau, AFB, Paseka, Kasiano,Sipley, Amone, Perrett.......

"Melbourne are attempting to offload giant prop Sam Kasiano in a bid to sign the hottest property on the open market - Broncos colossus Tevita Pangai Junior.
Big things were tipped for the giant Kasiano when he joined the Storm this year from the Bulldogs but he failed to live up to the hype.
Kasiano did manage 14 games in the top grade but averaged only 23 minutes per match and failed to make the type of impact Craig Bellamy has been looking for."
No. Not worth a shot. We have enough oversized lumps already. Plus we have this salary cap penalty thing to adhere to. Did you hear about that one?😉

Standing by for this to appear elsewhere (i.e. the Daily Bellylaugh) as ‘Manly are interested in Sam Laziano.’

Don was the trainer for some time at the Bulldogs when Des was there.

Kasiano was a log there.

Not knocking Singe, but to say he would transform Kasiano is a bit of a furfy if he already trained him.
But maybe Donny knows how to get him fit and firing, while keeping the weight on. As long as he can do the job (like he did under Donny at the Dogs), I don't care what he looks like.

I'm not convinced entirely that Marty will stay at Manly. I think Des will have a word about whether he really wants to be there and if the answer is 'no' I reckon Des will let him walk. Contracts don't mean much these days. Then our priorities change for the forward pack. Des likes aggression. I reckon he'll use Marty's money to chase klemmer and probably pass on Kasiano

Fair enough mate.

Personally I think the bloke is utterly lazy and selfish as a player.

Would hate to see him at Manly regardless of who does or doesn't train him.

If Bellamy can't get him performing then no

At his best he gave a bit of punch of the bench, but we should be aiming for players with more upside
Bellamy is not the messiah and that's why he couldn't get him performing.

Oh yeah i think i did hear about the salary cap situation..............with Melbourne paying for most of his freight then cap wouldn't get affected much! I do remember him tearing us a new a$$hole quite a few times when we played against him & the Dogs. Don't think he's that lazy at all!

Storm would have to be stumping up for a chunk of his salary... I’d sign him for sure. Impact of the bench and plenty of experience.
