Sack Spoony Siebold

the owner and CEO are responsible for setting unrealistic KPIs in the coach's contract, causing the coach to prioritise short-term survival over long-term success. This is because the unrealistic KPIs create pressure to achieve immediate results, potentially hindering the coach's ability to focus on building a strong, sustainable team and developing players for the future.
Its a results driven business..

It's clear now the Dogs have no heart and Ciro is a myth who should be sacked.
Also Panthers players are useless, Cleary is a has-been and should be sacked.
Also the Sharks are one dimensional flat track bullies. And fitzgibbon must go!
(or maybe it's a real even comp??)
Come on man. The Panthers were missing Edwsrds, To'o, Martin, Cleary, Yeo, Papalii, Garner, Sorenson, and Geyer. The Dogs were missing Preston, Fifita, Tupounioua, Kiraz, Salmon, King, Crichton, and Kurt Mann. When we were missing four players last year Siebs referred to it as a free throw at the stumps, As for Cronulla, they got smoked by a team filled with young quality forwards and backs. What Spoon has done with our squad is the exact opposite of that. Although, the Sharks do have a flat track bully reputation.

The winning % while coaching at Manly of our last 4 coaches

Toovey 57.5%
Barrett 39.7%
Hasler 56.4%
Seibold 50.0%

Ok now for a pick of the board who can guess which coach was sacked "because its a results driven business".
Out of all those coaches, Barrett probably had the best team in the comp in recent times in comparison to the other coaches. Barrett had arguably the best prop combo in Taupau and AFB, then throw in Api, Walker, Troy Thompson, Sirro, Jake, . Then throw in Turbo and DCE as well as Fainu. If Bennett or Bellamy had that team they would at least win one ring.

Not to mention how hardened the Panthers will be next season having blooded a stack of kids while playing away from home all year. It will be the making of them.

Don’t really want to get into whether he should be sacked or not. I don’t rate him, nor does anyone from up North who knows the guys coaching history but that’s just an opinion. Others may differ but what I want to know is

WHY THE **** DID WE EXTEND HIM?

Noone was chasing him , his results were average and his reputation in the game is hardly glowing.

Just let him see out his contract and go from there. Now we are stuck with him or a big payout for no reason if this season is a failure.
I just don’t get it
Not one club had any interest and why would they
They re-signed him because he was cheap ..... he wouldn't get a 1st job anywhere else....

I'm not in the sack Seibs camp because I think rebuilds set clubs back years. With a better roster, I think he can do OK. However, I don't feel a strong connection to this roster. I don't feel passionate about our players. I like the Trbo's, Garrick, Hoppa, Koula, Bully, Ola, and Croker, but the rest are just not 'Manly' type players. Even a guy like TKO, who has been playing OK, is a Rooster. Brooks is a Tiger. Tevaga is a Warrior. Guys like Lodge, Aloiai, and co. are just soulless mercenaries. I'm not getting a 'culture' vibe from this team. It feels very disconnected.
I always like what you have to say. I've always been Seibold neutral (not pro, but not sack) but this season is making it very hard and last nights game was awful .... I am starting to come around to the "sack" side but only because emotionally I want to blame someone. I also recognise that although it might make me feel better short term by blaming someone and getting scalp I actually don't think it will change the long term direction and if he goes the penn will hire another money ball coach and we'll be back sacking another one in 2 or 3 years.

Look at you moving the stumps to make excuses for other teams 🤣 you’d be 1st on here to say having players out is no excuse if someone mentioned DCE, Jurbo, Burbo, Josh A, Paseka & Sipley being out. Dogs got pumped by 40 a few weeks ago by broncos at full strength. Melbourne were up 16-0 against dolphins & lost 42-22 a few weeks ago.

Why is it so hard for people to see the salary cap is working, last to 5th position is only a difference of 5 points. Literally we need 2 wins in a row & we are fighting for a top 4 spot. Easier said then done with how inconsistent we have been this year but honestly I’d say that’s the theme of the comp so far for most teams.

Yes, but Parramatta were missing Simonsen, Moses, and Lomax. And they lost their best Centre in the first minute. Including Sipley as a missing player is a nice touch.

I guess we will see by the end of the year how good a coach Seibold is. Time will prove only one of us right. I can already hear you saying "oh geez Thewestisbest, you were right. How did you know?"

Wow you make it too easy honestly, Dolphins were missing Hammer, JMK, Plath, Saifiti, Gilbert & Flegler. Still pumped the dogs with ease. As for Newcastle they were missing KP, Best, Marzew, Thompson & Saifiti.

But you go ahead with the narrative you are trying to create that there losses some how don’t compare to ours this weekend even though they were both also beaten convincingly but understrength teams🤣🤦‍♂️

It's about the quality of those missing players.
Edwards, To'o, Cleary, Yeo, Martin, Sorenson, Papalii, Garner, and Geyer.
So that's 5 SOO players, 7 Internationals.

The Knights did well to turn it around. They might be ahead of us if the Broncos turn up to play next weekend. We could be bottom four next weekend. It's going to get real hard to defend the coach I feel.

As for comparing losses. I feel ours was the weakest performance. Besides, the Dogs are leading the comp and Penrith have been playing away from home all season. They have also won 4 GFs in a row. We had a bunch of home games to start the year and are now struggling big time.

Joe Smokin, you act like a guru because you can throw up a few names that anyone can look up on a NSWRL website. You still haven't answered why a below average middle like Waddell is first option to replace Ben T. Instead of sitting around camp fires being deep in the off season, Seibold might have bought a backrower. Especially after he let Karl Lawton go.

Explain how that makes sense please Joe.

Not sure what you mean about Sky fairies. Maybe ease up on whatever it is you are drinking or smoking.
I already posted that he has not made correct calls every time, but your grip on reality seems tenuous so that is ok.
This little chat was about you getting upset that I didn't think Holbrook was a great coach to replace him,if you want to change the convo that is fine.
Never said I was a guru, but if you think that sure.....
Would I pick the same side as Seibold every week? No,most times not,but that was not the convo here, you want to turn it that way, cool .
As I have already said,he bought Chee Kam and some youngsters because that was the room in the cap, what elite recruits were available and were prepared to play Reggie's behind Ola and BenT?

ou still haven't answered why a below average middle like Waddell is first option to replace Ben T.
Just by the way, when we signed Waddell, Seibold mentioned he can also play as a middle and I think he gives reasonable value as a middle, at least a depth middle.

Since 2022 with Dogs and now Manly he has started 31 games at second row, 3 at front row, 3 at lock, and the rest from the bench, so hardly a novice at 2nd row.

Also someone else pointed out that by the time Burbo took ill the only replacements available were Clayton and Navale, neither of whom would be picked as starting 2nd row

They re-signed him because he was cheap ..... he wouldn't get a 1st job anywhere else....
Just another budget buy.
When you look back at the players we’ve signed and resigned it’s quite bewildering that we have had the results we’ve had. Most of them haven’t cracked first grade or are not of first grade standard.
We have let go of players to other clubs and then brought them back without any promising performances??
I’m not sure what the answers are but if it keeps going in this vain then the answers won’t matter to much, but we are all not going to be fooled by their pretentiousness.
Didn’t Penn and Mestrov say that Seibold will be our premiership coach,I wonder if they foolishly believe this now, because we are definitely not.

And we were without 5 first team players, Paseka, Burbo, Alioi, jake and DCE.

Did you see how many players the Roosters had out last night.
Brought in a bunch of young kids and rolled Cronulla.
We can't even beat Cronulla at full strength and Seibold does the complete opposite with old pensioner forwards signed to multi year retirement deals.

It almost corrupt.
