Sack Spoony Siebold

Oh, his Uk record means nothing? According to who? You?

And spare me the "there is no money in the cap BS." So according to you, the only signing we could make was a washed up 33 yo journeyman. Nothing else available anywhere in the football world folks according to Joe the smoker. I'll be taking what you say about the lower grades with a grain of salt.
Ooh hit a nerve did I?
Great argument,my opinion means nothing, but yours does?
Please,spare me ...
So if there was so much money in the cap,did we choose not to spend it and just tuck it away for a rainy day?
Never said there were no players anywhere else 😂,just make some more **** up 😂.
I have always taken what you say with a kilo of salt....

Coach doesn't make all the recruitment decisions, pretty sure Seibold has said there's a panel at Manly and he has a voice obviously but it's not just up to him. Can't see how Moses has any great say over Manly anyway

Siebold, Tommy Talau ,aaron woods , Ben Condon, cooper John and Shane Flanagan all managed by Moses. No issue with Talau or Flanagan but the others I’m at a loss as to why they were signed or resigned. Also I understand Penn empowers the coach with all decisions on the playing group rubber stamped by the Mestrov. Makes it easier for Penn to get rid of the coach…the old give them enough rope. I see your point on the current playing groups management .

I thought you watched the lower grades Puff Jiddy.

I never once said we have heaps of money in the cap. But I do believe, like many other clubs, we could have signed a backrower other than Chee Kam. Who can't get game over a bog average middle forward when just one of our backrowers is unavailable. Is there no one better running around in NSW Cup? .

The owner pays the bills. Much has been done under his ownership, such as the centre of excellence. Mistakes have been made, no doubt, but it is the individuals charged with getting the job done who have failed.
I have to pretty much agree with @Ralphie on this. Look the bottom line as I see it is that Penn doesn't care about Rugby League. And he doesn't care about the Manly Wsrringah Sea Eagles. Hell he doesn't even live in Australia, and you can all bet he has bigger projects in mind than an NRL premiership. There's just no emotional involvement and that's not going to change.

What he cares about is the financial value of the investment. I strongly suspect his dearest hope is to sell the club on, for a handsome profit.

I would take it he doesn't really care about the results, provided the club doesn't cause him any actual embarrassment. And that's why Hasler had to go: his comments embarrassed Management.

So yes, the business of playing football and its results has been thoroughly outsourced and delegated.

At any rate that is how I see it re Penn.

You Seibold defenders just don't get it.
Why are our only options over the hill forwards? Is Seibold and our recruitment team responsible for the Dads army forward pack we have right now? If not, then who is?

Are there no youthful options available to fill out the squad? I would have thought Older experienced guys wouldn't be playing for minimum wage. Brown, TKO. Tevaga are not on minimum.

Cheers!

We have Dunford who is probably just ready for a debut,we have Hart,Konz,Hayley running around.
Maybe that is why we signed Chee Kam instead of others, but you are right,I know nothing.....
Puff Jiddy?
Oh no,you really got me there......

The money in the cap is a myth.

Every team must spend 95% of their cap every year or they face the prospect of a fine.

Joe Smokin, you act like a guru because you can throw up a few names that anyone can look up on a NSWRL website. You still haven't answered why a below average middle like Waddell is first option to replace Ben T. Instead of sitting around camp fires being deep in the off season, Seibold might have bought a backrower. Especially after he let Karl Lawton go.

Explain how that makes sense please Joe.

Not sure what you mean about Sky fairies. Maybe ease up on whatever it is you are drinking or smoking.

Spot on Cliffy...!

Penn, often refers to the club as a prestigious asset, a kind of social currency he can talk about in New York. Owning a rugby league team gives him a veneer of cultural relevance and sporting credibility. But for those watching closely, it’s hard not to question what his real investment is both financially and emotionally in the club and the community it represents.

From where I stand, Penn looks less like a visionary and more like an opportunist. He’s made his fortune not necessarily through innovation, but through privilege: the benefit of wealth and being well-positioned in a booming fitness industry. He was in the right place at the right time not necessarily the right leader for a professional sports organisation with deep community ties.

Unlike some club owners who are driven by a win-at-all-costs mentality and backed by strong business networks and passionate community financial support, Penn seems detached. He doesn’t appear to bring that same fire, nor the strategic partnerships or local engagement that sustain successful modern clubs.

And the signs of deeper problems are there. The front office has seen a revolving door of senior staff, including multiple CEOs. That kind of turnover suggests instability, confusion, or a lack of clear leadership none of which bode well for the future of the Sea Eagles.

In the end, it feels like the club is being held in place rather than being propelled forward. If Penn truly values what the Sea Eagles represent not just as a talking point in Manhattan, but as a beloved institution on Sydney’s Northern Beaches then the stewardship needs to reflect that. Right now, it doesn't and it hasn't for over ten years.

I said this on another thread however any coach of any NRL team with the results siebold has been getting and the way the team is going would be under pressure.
The fact he didn't sign a single backrower to fill in for Oka or Ben and his use of the bench, including choosing a skinny winger hasn't helped his cause.

It's clear now the Dogs have no heart and Ciro is a myth who should be sacked.
Also Panthers players are useless, Cleary is a has-been and should be sacked.
Also the Sharks are one dimensional flat track bullies. And fitzgibbon must go!
(or maybe it's a real even comp??)

Ben was ruled out late after the squad had been cut down to 19. Correct me if I’m wrong but you can’t go outside of this 19 to replace the player? Navale & Falalo were the only 2 options after Wakeham & Chee Kam were excluded before Burbo was in doubt. Explains why Waddell was 2nd rower
