I then asked ChatGPT to find evidence of Seibold & his manager opening discussions of moving from coaching into a management role:

So this idea that Seibold said he doesn’t want to coach anymore comes from a single, non-credible source.

It may very well have been the club’s idea, not Seibold’s or his manager’s.

Or simply something that was floated off the cuff by either club or coach but never seriously considered by either? Maybe like Turbo off to Europe?

Interesting @47MVEagle

I really wonder at times about the narrative that “
the players hate Seibold “, apart from the captain throwing a hissy fit ( more likely at Penn / Mestrov anyway ) where is the credible information that the coach has lost the dressing room??

And I say credible not media bull****.

The fact that Penn ( who we agree isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed as far as football clubs go) has stated he had two years left suggests the camp isn’t unhappy at all because surely if there was chaos internally Penn couldn’t be that dumb.

If Ola puts himself on record supporting seibold, I have to say, that is quite interesting and puts a dent into the rumours. Dce is an easy cat to read too, with his comments about leaving and the club, but I never did notice friction or disagreement and slight underhand comments about the coach, their training/game plan in press conferences after the game. In fact he once put his hand up for going away from seibs game plan after a loss.

Still not sold on seibs either way, but I think the agenda and people using vague reports to support their argument against seibs is possibly losing traction in my eyes.

I asked ChatGPT if ChatGPT is the single source of the truth and can be relied upon to settle disputes on footy forums. Here is what it said;

No.

Players can and/or do say comfortable lies or half truths in public though.

Jake T once said on the record that he wanted to be coached by Trent Barrett for the rest of his career... I'm not sure that was necessarily true.

I think you would need to speak to a player off the record with their guard down to have a better idea of what their version of the truth really is.

Seibold, mestrov and Penn must go. In fact under Penn we have gone from bad to worse.
He has stuffed everything up since the 2011 GF win.
The fact he publicly backs a coach with NFI and says he has what it takes to win a comp is ludicrous.
seibold and mestrov also have no runs on the board when it comes to football decisions or success for the club.
The fact Penn doesn’t recognise this also drives any supporter with a brain crazy. The fact he’s leaving 2 incompetent people like seilbold and mestrov to discuss a succession plan when the best thing to do is get rid of them both immediately is amusing but sad at the same time.

I’m sure there aren’t any really ardent Seibold fans on here currently , but as I’ve often said , I’m neither totally pro or totally anti , rather I’m ambivalent and I think there is a fair few of us on here that would be in this category.

But there’s also a lot of anti , and some VERY anti
the current coach members on here , almost all are Des devotees , and all are “ we need a coach with Manly DNA entrenched “ , and I think we have to accept that this is their view and they aren’t changing it.

As to the items that support that view , there will no doubt be some.

So which do you believe ??? , well you believe whichever story suits your narrative , and the other side is bull****, sadly that’s human nature these days rarely do people want to look at both sides of a story , they choose their side and that’s the side of truth regardless, the other side ( regardless of any facts ) , utter garbage.

Here is the article where the Seibold to management story was initiated. No idea what is or isn’t a “credible” source these days, but this is from Michael Chammas at the SMH. Maybe we should all have just immediately recognised it as “click bait” and ignored it, which would probably have halved the size of this thread and foregone ST a few advertising $’s. In future, I propose that all rumours be put through ChatGPT for verification by a mod, before opening for discussion on ST. Or we could add those little factoids that wiki includes at the start of all politically sensitive misinformation/disinformation to avoid the ill-informed becoming more so.

Yeah, they can, they also say nothing or say something detrimental such as comments about Walters.

Jake speaks from the heart and im more likely to believe that is how he felt at the time.

Ola's comment didn't seem like a throwaway line and sounded like he wanted to put it to bed saying inside the camp they are sweet.

So my choice is to take his comments as fair dinkum, or ST posters comments suggesting he wasn't genuine.
