The team was playing pretty well & seemed to be coached pretty well until the end of round 3 when Mr Millions decided to announce he was leaving??? Oh yeah & Mr I’m always injured got injured again!!!
Fair point, I dont think Seibold is a great coach by any means, but I think DCE s announcement along with our forward injuries and ,on going TT injuries has made the degree of difficulty far in excess of Siebold's ability to manage it.
Overall I think DCEs announcement and the way it was done was the 100% catalyst ,and that pretty much everything thats happened after that is a victim of that one announcement ,including his own shyte form which has been abysmal, with yesterday being a shining example of why he wasn't resigned for 2026 and beyond.
A season that started with a lot of promise but has spun totally out of control due the storm of unrest, mis-trust and a sense of foreboding that the DCE announcement has caused

It’s deeper than just DCE’s announcement though. The issues have been around for 18 months and Seibold’s signing choices highlight that.Finals last year only masked the problems Seibold has as a coach.DCE’s decision, whilst selfish in its delivery, just proved how weak the club is and how Seibold hadn’t learnt from his Broncos experience.Look at how the Raiders have responded to Fogarty’s exit.A strong club/coach knows how to deal with adversity

Nailed it in one I reckon !!

Agreed. I still don’t understand the blind faith shown in this guy from day one. His only strength appears to be his ability to spin the bull**** for the higher ups. He has down nothing to warrant the chances he has been given, and to then start dictating his next career move into club management. As you say, gobsmacking.
Again, I don't know that anyone had "blind faith", or any faith, in Seibold when he was appointed as our coach. It was an odd choice from the get-go - I mean, he was a rugby league punchline for years and it was always going to be a risk. But he was given the job and we had to hope for the best. We gave him a chance, but that chance has surely evaporated.

One of the many things that bothered me in Seibold's last chat to the media before the Tigers game was him talking about smears, whispers and "personal agendas". He knows he's under siege, and he knows we all know what he went through as his time at the Bronco's came to a close. There was a sense that he couldn't quite believe it was happening all over again.

But that's what happens when you're the head coach of an NRL team and that team continues to lose. If he's not up for it - and he's pretty much said he's not, which is why he wants to segue into a different role at the club - then he shouldn't be doing the job.

He also said he'd spent time talking to various directors at the club, presumably trying to shore up his own position when he should have been concentrating on preparing the team for an important game. The fact he has to do that, or even thinks he has to do that, should show his position at the club is untenable.

I do have a lot of sympathy for Seibold. The club is a basket case and the players have given him nothing. But if they haven't responded to him and his methods, a large part of that has to be on him. He needs to go. All that remains to be seen is whether we are dumb enough to give him a promotion in order to make it happen.

Cannot in any way be as mentor role.

If he’s “ lost the dressing room “ he’s done.

I think Penn is the type to be swayed by Seibold-speak, and if Seibold is friends with Mestrov, it makes it fairly likely he will be moved “upstairs” at the club, which is probably an even worse outcome than retaining him as coach. Another blind faith move that he is some sort of football management guru.

If Seibs does get the axe.

I think it's for not having the kahunas to drop Dollar Chaser Evans this year.

I accept the forwards have been crap.

But there's trying and then there's what the turtle has dished up in 25.

$CE looked as if he was trying once since the announcement that was vs Melbourne, and rumours suggest he put pen to paper with the roosters some time around then.

This is the problem with the club the past 10 years.A good/only decision to be made is invariably followed up by a poor decision. You sack Barrett, but sign Des.Sack Des then sign Seibold, amongst a host of 1 step forward 2 step back decisions

Exactly what is happening here. It's almost criminal.
Yep, down to the excuses at post match press conferences, to getting offside with the playing group, to behind the scenes manoeuvring by old boys. It’s eerily similar, yet for some reason, we expected things to be different this time around.

Gobsmacked that he was given the head coach job after Hasler. Even more so at the level of belief in him held by the fans. Unfortunately we have only ourselves to blame (apart from he who shall not be named)
It is remarkable that so many Manly fans, the "real ones" apparently, fell for this charade. Seibs appalling recruitment is a perfect reflection of what he did at Brisbane.

I am not sure Siebold is the right coach for us ( I never have been) but our results this year imo have not come from poor coaching or the coach not owning the room so to speak and all the other cliches that align. Our poor results and form has come from not having the right players on the field….predominantly forwards!! Very few coaches if any could turn our current on the field playing group into a premiership force… our forward pack is the equivalent to an average NSW cup team and that’s being nice…. The drama with DCE’s departure and obvious falling out with management has also had an impact. Our club needs to work tirelessly to address our roster not worrying about replacing seibold etc and punting DCE early and all the hyperbole that goes with it. We are just 2-3 astute signings from having a very competitive team….this is where the clubs focus should be.

I don't mean any offence but out of interest are you Biff under a new name?

It's pretty hard not to feel sympathy for Seibs. You can tell he is really struggling with being under the spotlight again. And despite everything he is only trying to support his family. It's not his fault that Manly hired him. I think he will get work again in the field of pro sports but it won't be as a head coach.

OK, thanks for confirming you are Biff. Only the real Biff could post that.
