As a mutual looking at the current situation, I do think the coaching staff needs to have Manly DNA back in there, the playing group appears a bit lost and theres a big lack of passion, a big cleanup is necessary to build for the future

Andrew Johns believes Anthony Seibold still has "something to offer" as Manly coach, despite rumours suggesting he could be on his way out of the club.

Seibold's tenure has been up and down since arriving at the Sea Eagles, missing the finals in 2023 before being eliminated in the second week of the 2024 playoffs.

He had a great breakout year with a team of proven almost self supporting champions in South Sydney when he won the DallyM
Then he went to the Broncos where it did not work out
We have him here at Manly and it isn’t working out either
I have nothing against him, he is highly intelligent and maybe a Football Managers role analysing stats etc may be his calling
However, from a Sea Eagles First Grade Coach point of view, we need someone to get us playing finals footy

No source other than DCE's sly little announcement, I think. People were always going to take "I'll play for anyone next year but Manly" as a crack at the Manly coach and organisation. Seems to have become accepted wisdom from there.

Oh - and he didn't invite Seibold to his wedding.

It’s a well known fact amongst insiders,that DCE asked for a release early parts of last year due to him not rating Seibold as a coach.Manly said no,obviously.Come seasons end,when it was time to talk a DCE extension for 2026,Manly put it on pause for a bit and in the meantime,the club extended Seibold’s contract,which prompted DCE to tell the club he wouldn’t be extending past 2025.Around the same time,a few senior players approached Mestrov to air their grievances about Seibold’s coaching,no prizes for guessing who two of those players were.
Believe my story or not,I don’t care,but I heard it from more than one source,the rumour has been all over the place and the evidence has been for all to see on the field

The senior players did not look like they were putting in 100%. Could this be tied into what is being rumoured about the Trojevic boys and DCE not rating Seibs as a coach? There is certainly a lot of smoke around the subject with questions either directly or indirectly being asked around this subject. I guess a version of the truth will eventually come out.

Not sticking up for Siebold but for DCE & the Trbos to say he can’t coach is a bit rich coming from them! The same players who are not performing & have been pretty useless for a number of years! Jrbo not included but DCE & Turbo should STFU!

Our five highest earners:
Tom=busted
Jake=busted
DCE=jumping ship
Paseka=injured
Olakau’atu=injured

It’s easy to see why we are struggling a bit…but…we’ve also got a coach that thought signing a whole lot of deadwood to supplement those high earners was a better idea than bringing through a crop of talented athletic young players to keep up with the pace of the game. He’s also happy to have a hooker that can’t win contact, a winger with the skill set of an u/10s park footballer, and an assistant coach that trains the attack to run block shapes for 80 minutes.

Get rid of Seibs and try and turn over some of the deadwood he’s recruited; it’s a start?!

Possibly we need a bit of that Penrith DNA added in, Dogs, Tigers have melded it in and you can see the results. Any chance we could grab a defensive coach from Penrith as an assistant coach along with a player or two like Scott Soreson to show the expected standard.

You need forwards that can move, to defend like the Dogs and Panthers. Lodge was taken off after 15 minutes today; he was absolutely out on his feet and couldn’t get to marker and was repeatedly the last player back in the defensive line; no coach can turn him around, no matter how good.

So you’re saying it has everything to do with DCE’s leaving “announcement”?Lets go through those first 3 rounds,shall we.Beat,as proven,a poor Cowboys,beaten by the Warriors,then got a ton of penalties/ possession and benefitted from a sin bin against the Raiders.DCE and the Trbjovic’s are not absolved from blame,but this all comes back to the original decision of signing Seibold in the first place
