Heart of hearts , do you honestly believe , tightarse Mr Fluffy is going to pump up , 1.6 - 2 million to keep fans like you happy ???

I’m not being or trying to be , smart , just realistic.

You and many many others have this view , and that’s fine , but having a view and seeing it come to fruition are two entirely different things.
Nup. He'll be gone

You have a lot of faith in Mr Fluffy’s wallet
I'm not sure what you are getting at Mark. Penn has never been shy of sacking a coach. He's punted many a coach/CEO in the past. That's why certain posters on here don't want him to sack Seibold. Because it means doing what we have always done whenever we had poor results.

My opinion is he probably needs to go based upon his appalling recruitment.

This is true: despite his reluctance to spend money on things he can't name after his family, Penn doesn't mind sacking a coach (remember, "It's a results-driven business"). Why? Because it gives the illusion that he's (a) paying attention, and (b) doing something about our poor results. It's the easy way out, which fits perfectly with his MO.

I saw Seibold said we were 1 win away from the 8. I wonder if he’d be surprised to find out that if you gave us 2 points right now, we would not be in the 8.

Hope he realises completely nerfing our PD in the last 2 weeks has now kept us 2 wins away, unless of course we can win by 166 points!

Sack this inept fool
The club cut this bit from the presser on their web site. Stupid thing to do because, of course, most people will see it.

You can tell by the expression on Siebold's face that the question touched a raw nerve. I wouldn't be surprised if he has already been told that he's going to be finished at the end of this year if not sooner.
Yeah I noticed it hit a nerve; I’m no Seibs hater but he looked down and his eyes told a story.

One thing I’m growing a bit of tired of is when we lose convincingly, he always reminds us that it ‘was a tough game’ and that the opposition are a ‘good side’. I think I don’t like it because I get the sense that he’s purposefully going out of his way to curate a more favourable narrative, rather than talking straight.

Seibold under the pump on fox sports news today, has lost the playing group including senior players… turbos haven’t signed the new deals yet, looks like they waiting for him to be booted

Several of these senior players have missed the finals under Toovey, Barrett, Hasler, Seibold, all of whom were or will likely be moved on.

Given that we have made the finals 4 times and the top 4 only once since 2014, I think it is time to stop treating them like they are somehow the arbiters of who is a good coach and who isn't.

I also really hated the bit where he said, "We were a 50% season last week", as if that was actually a good thing.

I try to give Seibold the benefit of the doubt, I really do. But he always manages to say something that infuriates me.

100% he seems to accept mediocrity. Middle of the ladder is fine for him. As long as there’s a handful of teams below us on the ladder and we’re keeping up with the competition average, he’s happy.

We need a coach who will at least hold the team accountable for performing well below where they should be, rather than just saying the opposition were really good for every single loss and that the competition is so close so it’s fine.

But after those comments earlier in the year about this not being pressure when there’s other issues in the world, he does come across as if he just doesn’t care that much.

That’s assuming that (a) he’s lost the senior players and it’s not just media spin and (b) that he’s lost them on the grounds of performance and not some other reason, I.e. the personal dynamic between coach and players.

I don’t have it in for Seibs but it’s pretty rare for an effective coach to lose the dressing room; the idea that when a critical mass of people are aligned in their feeling or perception, it becomes irrational to dismiss it.

I know we say "just dumb footballers" but surely they can all see we are built wrongly as a roster. Favour the wrong players in the wrong positions.

I'd be very shocked if most of the players don't like our approach and recruiting let alone the coaching direction week in week out.

If it's true that DCE would rather leave after 14 years than be at a club where seibold ( and choc) are coaches and the turbos are not re-signing while he is coach then it's a massive problem with only one fix.

There’s too many people saying there’s an issue,to it to be just media spin. And the story that DCE asked for a release early last season, again at season’s end and then eventual non re-signing,due to his “displeasure” at Seibold’s coaching, won’t go away.I could understand if the Fox/NewsCorp media were continuing down the track of Seibold’s demise, with a view to pushing their stablemate Ennis into the job,but even Nine’s media are talking about it and the Ennis talk has gone quiet, for now

He's just not that type of coach, kinda like a Uni Professor doing a lecture. Football administration is his go really.
