Penn, Mestrov, Seibold, the recruiters, the defence coach and about 8 players need to go immediately. I can't understand how anyone can make excuses for any of them. It is a group of never beens and never will be's. It starts with Penn, who has achieved nothing since taking ownership. Then Mestrov, then Seibold who have both, also achieved nothing....yadda yadda....!!
But the matter of paying out contracts has to be considered! Don't know what the answer is!

I can't stand Seibold as a coach, not even Barrett was this bad. His fluffy talk about togetherness and the Manly way is just nonsense. This is the guy who ran the Broncos into the ground. I can't stand his press conferences; he always seems happy with losses and talks about team effort. He needs to leave right now before he puts us in a 5-year rebuild. He doesn't seem like a coach that players want to play for, and the only ones who come to Manly are those looking for a second chance or are at the end of their careers because no other clubs want them.

Please leave, Seibold, before you sink us any further.

I genuinely don't understand how you people can think this.

Do you all seriously believe we would be in this position if we still had Paseka and Aloiai?

This is literally the same sort of ignorance that led to Des getting sacked. "We LoSt SeVeN iN a RoW", yeah, without Tom, Jake, we lost Garrick, we lost Paseka, etc. Yet it was all blamed on Des. Ignorant BS.

IMO we are doing better than some teams with better rosters, e.g. the Cowboys. We haven't conceded 50 in the Seibold era - something Des couldn't do.

The people saying Flanagan was the better coach have gone quiet, haven't they? If we had Flanagan over Seibold, undoubtedly we would have Kyle trotting out in Brooks' absence. Would you prefer him?

For the people saying he's worse than Barrett, LOL, stop kidding yourselves. Barrett had Turbo for 20+ games, peak Jake, AFB, Koroisau, and a generally good platform, and yet he nearly won us a spoon.

Today, Turbo, DCE, and Jake are passengers on $3 million, our forward pack is dead, and yet we're doing better than 2018. If anyone thinks some master coach can dig us out of this rabble, they are kidding themselves. But they're not even saying that, they're saying a rookie coach! LOL.

DCE blew up Manly’s season.* Take that Channel Nine performance of his away and we might well be further up the ladder.

It’s a relief he is finally going and at least Manly will (barring some major plot twist) never again have to put up with him and his tortured, seemingly insincere ‘swallowed a dictionary’ syntax, in any further capacity.

Not a great fan of the coach, I much prefer an ex- Manly player in the role. However I think he is sincere in trying to get the best out of his side.

Unfortunately his captain is not helping.

*DCE’s departure should be just about the last piece of the de-Fultonisation process.

You mean the Bozo that gave DCE an 8 yr contract? Stuffed up local junior development by getting involved with Aldi Penrith,Blacktown? Showed great nepotism by insisting that his daughter and overrated development coach son,get jobs at the club, thus handing a lot of power to poor man’s Isaac Moses,Mario Tartak?(well that one could be on par with the current dud)
At the risk of upsetting ST’s very own Bozo, again,Fulton’s past 10 years or so involvement at the club, was not good
Got rid of Gutho to bring Dylan Walker in, Nate Myles, etc.

Bring back Trent!

Some fair points in this but he also has made a number of decisions which people are entitled to question.

You could also argue the lack of respect shown by DCE to announce his career plans on national TV shows a massive lack of respect for Seibold. DCE is a tool but a good coach that would not happen to

1. He has recruited players like Lodge / Brown / Waddell which are looking older and slower by the day. Shame on Brown as he has a go but he's a shadow of the player from a few years back.
2. He has extended a lot of the backs at overs. We have too much cash tied up in the backline with players like Saab and Koula
3. He has not done anything to improve our hooking situation. Croker ran NOT once against the Titans.

For Seibs to get any chance of winning this crowd back, he needs to make some hard decisions on a back or two (trust in lower paid backs we have that can do the job) - get rid of Saab and either Koula or Gaz. Free up some cash for a 9 , a prop and a second rower.

He's in his 3rd year as coach so yes, he should be held accountable for results (look at the dogs coach) and he is especially accountable for attitude.

You are kidding, no? Koula and Garrick are keepers - Let Saab go and promote Clayton to full time right wing, Turbo finally into centre, Rueben to left wing and Lehi to full back, Tommy Talau on bench, or centres when Turbo is inevitably injured, or leaves. - Fix the forwards that's where our main deficiencies lie.

Time for Seibs to step down. We need an interim coach so give the job to Steven Hales. It is also time for us to move on from Des/ Manly DNA to be successful. We should look at someone like Justin Holbrook or Josh Hannay.
With all due respect, hales is the designer and coach of our woeful attacking structure and if anything should be shown the door asap.

I actually completely disagree with all of these points.

Firstly, who else would you recruit on min-wage contracts? I believe Brown was signed up for <$200k. As much as they're old and slow, at least they know how to be NRL-players. Remember, Sam Fainu, a young developing forward, who hadn't even solidified himself as a first grader, was able to siphon $500k out of the Tigers. Laiafi, a bench Flegg player, is a Top-30 player next year. That's the market now for young forwards.

It's also not a matter of recruiting one player with the money from all three either; these are all min-wage roster spots that legally must be filled by June 30. There has to be three players, and they must be on min-wage.

That leaves us with two methods. Moneyball, or juniors. For juniors, we must recruit them when they're in the S.G Ball or Matt's phase, or they are too expensive for a min-wage spot later on. This also has to do with demographics and poor development, we don't develop a lot of forwards on the Beaches.

Unfortunately, this reason isn't easily explained, and my words will never outweigh the echo chamber of "wHeRe aRe tHe YoUnG FoRwArDs, tHiS iS aLl oN SeIbS" on Facebook.

2. No way of knowing if this is true for most of them. They are all on below $550k, because otherwise they would appear on that DT article. Saab is on $250k, Talau on $200k. These aren't outrageous salaries.

3. We have gone hard for Starling, Brailey, Paix, Mozer, Smoothy, and those are just the ones we know about. This is a matter of not being able to land someone, rather than ignorance by the coaching staff. Yet again the echo chamber won't hear this.

Whichever way you look at it, the coach is the leader of the club and responsible for the results. Want to be the main man, guess what.. Burden of leadership mate.
So, you can disagree all you like but the fish rots from the head.

Yes we need a better coach but who ? i just dont get it.

All a coach needs to do is look at Bellamy's coaching style + choices and they will get results.
If Bellamy can turn No Names into hot NRL players , then HELLO ? dont reinvent the wheel...

But these monkeys are too proud to look at what works and stick to thier own usless coaching styles.
