Not sure we would have done much better with Turbo at fullback today. Pretty sure he wouldn't have stopped that Tracey try. Then again, if Turbo wasn't defending so poorly at centre, he probably wouldn't have had to…
That’s because TomT is being asked to make 20+ tackles a week playing centre,as opposed to barely 5 at FB

Can we all agree the hoppa to fullback experiment while solid has not set the world on fire? Even turbo at his mediocre middle has the ability to create for the wingers with regular input.

Lehi is solid with flashes but he's not read for the full-time fullback position.

Thanks coach.

If Seibold is a bad coach, we won't make the finals and he'll obviously be sacked.

If Seibold is a good coach, we make the finals from here.

No point bartering now, he's not getting sacked until the end of the season.

You know that is not correct, so don't pretend you don't know how things works.
He may well be gone now, however if we lose the next 2 matches , he will definitely be sacked - even if it's not announced till the end of the year.

Seriously, I really pray and hope we do win both next matches and make the semis - however it won't be bcos I think Seibold is the reason.

I think the problem is Toms a liability in defense and slow atm - its more about where we can hide him and if that's the case he may as well sit out

I like Koula at FB. We lack explosive speed at the back. The best teams in the NRL all have explosive acceleration at FB. Turbo and Lehi are too slow.
Who played fullback was the least of our problems today. When the effort tanks that badly, nobody at the back is going to make a difference.

We made mistakes all the over the field, never built any pressure, didn't capitalise on any of the few opportunities we had, missed tackles everywhere, and eventually just gave up. We flat-out sucked, like we have plenty of other times this year.

Who takes the blame? The players? The coach? The players and the coach? Plenty of blame to go around for a loss like that.

Our only hope is that they can bounce back against the Roosters next week.

We need Tommy in the centres.

Talau on Trbojevic

He is a bit like Gagai, a tough defender who often out thinks his opponent.

Next week presuming Haumole is out

And at his current level of form/fitness/confidence, of those 5 he would be asked to make at fullback, how many would he actually make?

Would he have even got close to Tracy to make the try-saving tackle that Hopoate made today?

This is the problem. Tom is on $1.1 million a year which is too much for a centre, but he cannot or does not currently complete many things in the remit of fullback as well as Lehi.

In any case, neither of them were the reason we lost today.

That’s right, they were just victims of an opposition that are well coached and drilled to target weaknesses.Unlike their opposition today

Garrick would have tackled Tracy,so Tom wouldn't have need to have done the last stop try saving tackle.

I honestly cannot fathom how we don't have a better backrow option than Waddell. The fact he is seen as our third best edge forward highlights everything wrong with our recruitment approach. Seibs has had two full seasons to prior to fix this and hasn't. It can't be understated how poor that is.

What difference does the contract dollars make.

Is Ponga earning his money?

Is Lattrell?

Is Sam Walker?

Is Taumololo?

Is Dylan Brown?

Is David Fifita,

Is DCE?

Is Reece Walsh?

Is Leui?

Is AFB?

Is Nicho?

I could go on.

Every club needs to spend 95% of their salary cap, thats is the rules. That is why the above list is so long. So would we rather see Brooks and DCE getting more of the cream or the Turbo's??

Tom is the best ball running player I have ever seen in over 50 years. Sure his best days are probably gone.

Clubs would come from every angle offering $800k-$900k if Manly tried to trim his contract too much.

And make no mistake the club and owners want and need Tom and Jake at the club for the next 10-15 years in some capacity. They are the only "warm iron in the fire" when it comes to turning the club around from within.

(Just watching Tigers-Sharks WNRL - some tough looking blokes in both sides)

100% agree with poster saying neither Tom nor Hoppa had much to do with todays result.

We definitely need to retain the trbojevic clan long term. They are the soul of our club.
