Saab has Hardened up

Agree fir the most part, but made little effort on gutho on the weekend for his try
He went for the intercept, in that case was a wrong decision but I don't think he shirked his commitment to defending the play

Here will do...

SPOTTED III

Jason Saab has been tagged the NRL’s fastest man, even faster than Josh Addo-Carr. The 20-year-old winger might have electrifying speed but he’s not the quickest at Manly. Keep an eye out for Tolu Koula — a rookie fullback or centre likened to Brett Stewart. He beats Saab at sprint training.

FMD !!! Koula beats Saab of all players at sprint training WTF ???

Who is this Koula guy ? He sounds Amazing !!!

So much SPEED !!!

That is Incredible !!!

He is Incredible !!!

He also Plays centre and our team can improve with some dynamic strike power in the centres who can turn half breaks into full length of the field tries

Pinch me I am dreaming @globaleagle . Is this Speed Demon Koula for real ???

Speed is cocaine on the footy field and It exhilarates the fans

You cannot stop a player you cannot catch . One side step and its all over red rover !

And the faster you go the bigger the mediocre mess you leave behind !

To All the Speed lovers . This is for you

No doubting koula " s speed but would assume that Saab would be right up with him in a head to head race . and talking about serious running times with around 10 . 5 sec . for the 100 metres attributed to Koula . Would think that next season the appropriate time to see where Koula could fit into the or future Manly line up 's . Club was intent to retain Garrick as a winger - full back option , Saab no doubt as a longer term winger so guess that leaves Koula as a centre , wing , full back option . Centre play with the new rules in attack predominately is for direct running , less on elusiveness but with koula 's speed and as a centre , would have to think that he would make even half chances playing outside the likes of Foz , Schuster and Turbo into some damaging runs . Same could apply to full back play for him and no doubt his finishing ability as a winger . Would have to show the basic defensive requirements and ability under the high ball , e t c , but pretty good start as a future regular i st grader when one has so much natural speed .

Gotta say we didn't see many of those attributes from Garrick against the Raiders.

Sure that Koula could make a decent fist as a back up fullback to Turbo but just mainly looking at the perspective of a regular i st grade spot for him and on current indications , again probably as a centre . As for Garrick at the back , seems that sometimes he can go quite well there , other times a bit average .

He seems to have the burst of speed that Saab doesn't have off the mark. When Saab winds up he really gets going. Be interesting to see them in 100 metre sprint.

Koula should have played by now especially around origin. He's played quite a few NSW cup games against men and scored plenty.

In hindsight would have liked Koula at FB when Tom has been unavailable.
However there must be a reason Des and co have left him on ice and sure he will get a run, but more likely 2022....he won't play his preferred fullback position so the 2,3,4 and 5 will be looking over shoulders....he will get his chance.

Agree - the kid can play. And it's not just because he's fast. He's got a good chip and chase and seems to have good awareness on the field.

I'd be very surprised if he wasn't in Des's plans for the future. Be interesting to see how quickly (or slowly) he is brought along.

At a guess he was slated for a debut outing late this season, but the cancellation of reserve grade and now the relocated bubble might put paid to that possibility.

I had to check what website this was. The first post title was about “Sex deprived players”, the second was this one, that “Saab had hardened up” and the third one was asking a question about who had the biggest balls, relating to Turbo catching 7 footballs. Geez…

Saab is GOLD. Can we please input a halfback (not a centre playing halfback), and backrower (not a hooker playing backrow) that may actually get him the ball to dominate ?

HELLO Desmond 🤷‍♂️

How Cust wasn't at half last week is a disgrace !

This kid is an absolute gun and we kept him for union and other clubs. He is in the 30 and will be playing 1sts next season.

Saab had his worst game for us since Round 4 last week, I hope he lifts after that disappointment.
He looks awkward at times because he is so tall and lanky. He was given the ball a couple of times when the only option was get put into touch. He did make a good bomb defusal, has been very solid in the air.

He also had a bad case of the dropsies. I don't think it will be an ongoing problem but he was very ordinary.
