Mate no one is forcing him to take a $3mil deal. If he doesn't want pressure than stay with Rugby on a $100K a year and play up through club / provincial system to international level and let his talent do the talking. If he cracks the Wallabies and brains it then sign the multi million dollar deals safe in the knowledge you are worth it and can deliver

The only one putting pressure on here is he and his manager by shopping himself around to the highest bidder.

That is a harsh ... but true assessment ... but at the heart is a lot of people with vested interest ... Manager, Rugby, Rugby League, Parents ... all facilitating the the pressure on a 16 year old .... and they all will have some responsibility .... for better or worse ...

RA have come out and said the quoted figures are not accurate & the deal is not done yet. I can only imagine with their current financial fragility that private equity would be contributing a big slice of the salary package to Suaalii.

He's got good skills obviously but he's allot bigger than the opposition in those clips, an advantage he won't have in the NRL or provincial rugby. I reckon even 1.7 over 3 years is an insane amount to pay anybody that's never played a single 1st grade game, let alone a million a season. If he can get it good luck to him but I'm glad it's not us going after him.

Looks like a man amongst boys and he won't have that luxury in NRL/ARU teams - and I reckon they will sort that step out pretty quick because he spruiks it like a real estate agent... Hope he's as good as Inglis but I predict a Paul Hough type result for the kid....

Having said that, he obviously has a good football brain from his highlight package and I could watch that cut-out pass at 0:45 time and time again....

With all such stories you need to give it a few days for the truth to come out.
RU never offered this kid $1-M a season; it was concocted by a hack on misinformation supplied by Souffs to cause embarrassment for RU.
And it worked.
Now it appears -- and this also may be Fake News -- that Souffs have signed the kid for half of the reported RU offer, at $500,000 a season. That still seems a ridiculous amount of money for an untested player who can't play NRL for at least another year.... or can he?
Souffs want the age limit rule 'relaxed' because this kid is a special case; like Money Bill no doubt.

So how in hell could the media beat-up the story that he was being offered $3-M for three years?

360 is basically 4 journos sitting round talking s***. Honestly they change their agendas every night. Kent at least plays the angry ant with small mans syndrome well. Buzz the degenerate drunk with early onset dementia. Hooper the slimy turncoat that would sell his own GM to be first to get the scoop. Crowley is ok and Ikin try’s to play the voice of reason. It’s hard to take it seriously tho and it’s just a form of light entertainment for me now.

I've seen plenty of tall blokes who just get snapped in League - too much leverage and surface are to crumple in half. Yes some make it like Tom and Inglis but I feel they are the exceptions and it's a road littered with dead bodies on the side of the highway that one.

He'll need some luck and careful management in those first couple of years before he develops and Souths need to be very careful. Dunno why i care about a Souths player but I see him getting snapped in half when they eventually do catch up with him and wrestle him in first grade. Great talent though.

I must say he doesn't look very dynamic in the videos - he is bigger and stronger than his peers, but not especially quick off the mark.
