it was ruled by the bunker that the opposition player wasn't in the act of scoring though (just being in the in goal wasn't enough)

Same happened in the Knights game with opposite ruling to this eels game.
They truly can find a way to **** themselves up these refs

Well, Manly have no direction. Bullymore has regressed so much. Parra has been getting some kind calls, but they are far more coordinated than Manly.

Most of the Panthers players body was still in the field of play and wasn't trying to get down to score, Reece pulls him towards the goal line than strips the ball, which you can't do.

When the players whole body is in the in-goal, they're classed as in the act of scoring and Reece stripping the ball would have been legal.

It's exactly what Gutho did.

Except today Best had pushed a good 3 metres in to the in-goal, had the ball stripped, and it was still ruled as not in the act of scoring.

I don't like the Gutherson call. There's nothing in the rules to say the player has to be in the goal, just that they were attempting to ground the ball. Paseka is held up by four players up right and then has the ball stolen. I'd argue Burgess went a lot closer against Melbourne when the Storm were penalised.

It's not a black and white rule but the way it's been ruled it's usually been treated as a last resort.
