The Bye...

It seems that the Sea Eagles may have had their last bye over the weekend for a while now. Whilst it may be resurrected in the future here is a tribute to the phenomenon that,

- Frustrated us emotionally as we couldn't see our team play
- Enlightened us intellectually knowing that our team gets a respite and can effectively prepare for the weeks up ahead
- Entertained us greatly as we got to laugh at all the losers

RIP, I'll be missing you.

It was almost a certain Win.
Im in favour of byes across the board at SOO time. Although that may drag out the season a liitle too :lol2: much.

I thought they were keeping it for 2007

Not having the bye is an advantage for teams with depth.

That's not us at the moment, particularly our 2007 forward pack as it currently stands.

Yeah, a front row rotation of King, Deadwood, Curtis and Styles would struggle in the Queensland Cup.

I heard John Brady interviewed on the weekend and he said that each team would still have one bye per year regardless of the 16 team format. Clubs wanted it retained as a mid season freshener.

Yes, next season there will be 25 weeks of competition and each side plays 24 games so the bye will still be around
