From what I have heard is that Manly has already paid him out for this year, [they didn't have to as he hasn't played a game this year] and we got salary cap dispensation for this year, so even if we wanted to play him, we were no hope.

Manly were obliged to pay Ritchie's base salary, under the latest RLPA agreement. Unsure what deal we had with the NRL to keep it from the Cap, but correct that if it wasn't on it, he couldn't have returned without having it affect it.
