Rest well Shaun Lane

That's sad he can't continue. Sounds a bit like Schuster, but Shaun's older and wiser and at 186 games he made a good go of his career.

Good on him for turning his mental health struggles into a positive and wishing him well for his future.

Good luck in the future Shaun - basically was done with Manly after the D$E Hastings fiasco

He was pretty good for us and maybe even our leading try scorer one year from memory.

Good luck for the future

He was good for us but could not cop Barrett and then carved us up a couple of times playing for Parra against us.
He couldn't cope D$E's drunken agro to Hastings and Barrett siding with the chaser

Maybe played a part in him leaving but pretty sure it was mainly a money factor
Manly 's best offer at the time around the 300 K range with him off contract , Eels 500 k ,
Big difference
Taking into account that when Manly signed him or at least in his i st season , he was only on about $ 180 K
Slow start with Manly but when he hit his straps or showed his best form and pace factor , could be really good on an edge or at prop and finding the line

The Para offer was what he deserved. He made it pretty clear he wasn't happy with the way Jacko was encouraged to take the blame to protect the team and el capitano. Jacko and Shaun both had mental health issues and the club shafted them

Often overlook Jacko 's time with Manly , had some talent [ probably still does ] but of course some other issues as well in his Manly stint
Still seems to be on good money and apparently a good stint in the S L but does not look like really making the mark that his early promise may have indicated

Actually just noticed your Terry Randell reference and was just thinking the other day that your posting style remined me of him or that persona posting name
Somehow seems a bit more refined these days if you don "t mind me saying with your posting style but meant in a complimentary way
One of your previous and latter stage posts as Terry Randell , mentioned you were visiting Hamilton Island up my way , Hope that was enjoyable

Thanks Manly Al.

Yes, a bit older these days. If you want to call that more refined, I’ll take it. I suspect a few others on here might not agree.

And yes, have been up to Hamilton a few times with the family. Always enjoyable. I envy you living up that way.

Cheers
