As if things aren't running bad enough for us, Matt Cecchin is the referee on Sunday!!

We have a -13.53% differential with him in charge........and Roosters have a +10.69%

Thats a double super whammy. The only way it could be worse is if we were playing Souths with Cecchin referreing!!

Statistically even Henry Perenara would be better, although his anti Manly bias is almost legendary!!

Yeah I noticed this as well....!

I sometimes check on the afl ref stats before our games to see what the selected officiating record is. And FWIW it is actually quite quite rare these days that I do come across positive differential stats for whoever is officiating us.

But your right @NLSeaEagle, this is a double whammy. And with out going into the games with a microscope that have resulted in these stats. Could these figures themselves indicate bias, whether it be conscious or unconscious from Cecchin against us and conversely for (helping) the rorters?

I believe that there is definately a conscious or unconscious bias with certain referees.

Most referees were probably NRL fans in their younger days and therefore would have built team allegiances and grudges.
I don't believe these disappear, it's against human nature.

Watching Henry Perenara doing Manly games, his body language and demeanor is clearly anti Manly!

Generally speaking Manly has a better record with referees who don't want to be rock stars.
Referees like Cecchin & Perenara want to be the centre of attention, you know very early in the game that they are the referees as they make their presence felt!

Referees who want to be the centre of attention are the worst thing in the game at the moment!
He is consistently the worst referee in the NRL and the fact he is an ex player with potential allegiances to teams he has played for, he should not be refereeing at this level!!

Tome, these blokes will determine who finish where in the top 8. Sorry it be whinge on refs, but 3 coaches in a month have their say, and to be honest,I agree with them, and yet again, referees are a protected species,they are not accountable
