Crusher got Sadler into the squad, that’s about the only player he has recruited. We do have some great local talent coming through, that may have made Crushers job difficult.

It's hard for Des to give decent money to future recruitment since we have too much cap tied up to DCE, Tom and Jake. Like I said in a earlier post if we could get another team to pay the majority of DCE contract we might as well let him go. We aren't getting any consistency from DCE and his short kicking game is horrible. Its sad that we see players on half his wage applying more pressure and having a better kicking game in the opposition try line.

He doesnt pass that's why.. even when he has played this year he has been on the wing

We are a club who have not brought many marquee players for a while as we developed the Turbro boys and DCE.

It is a ruthless game and once you hit 30 as DCE has things can change fast. He is the incumbent half back and captain and he needs to lift to get the team back into contention while Tommy is out.

DCE is on outrageous money and to some degree its been a milestone around his neck as he has not really improved a whole lot since the halycon days of 11--14 when he was outstanding. Hes is the master of the field goal and has won many tight games for us so that is something you always appreciate about him. He has also had to make do since Foran left with five eighths that have not really been consistent. If he had a quality 6 his game would really improve. This is where Manly need to get it right our 6 and 9 are our biggest current weaknesses.

Really like the Burton call and if Coates wants to mive South - hes welcome...if not Saab is already close by.
The Burton option deserves its own thread, these older blokes like Maloney, Green Marshall have experience all right , they've all 50 yo and Foran great as he is...walks an injury tightrope every game.
The answer could well be Schuster, but due to his exceptional versatility can play effectively in the back row and dominate the middle and edges, as a bloke like Burton is that 5/8 with 10+ years ahead of quality footy and this side would suddenly be stacked with Attacking options and close to unstoppable.
