I'm getting really sick and tired of hearing about Manly Management being "underwhelmed" by players that have been recruited (Kite, Witt etc).

You'd think these players held a gun to their head and demanded their exhorbitant salaries?

Isn't it time the recruitment committee stopped pointing the finger at players on high salaries performing badly and start to accept some accountability for their own **** decisions?

when we signed Kite we were a struggling club and had to pay overs to attract the big names. was always going to be a issue once we started to improve as we would have little left for the up and comers.

Only Kite isn't living up to his pricetag, if it's ok for this site to bag players form and the amount they are on, do you think it's not ok for management to also question them.

If I got paid $200k and wasn't pulling my weight, I'd expect my boss to be disappointed in me and think about whether they want to keep me.

Kite isn't even performing to a $200k salary or SOO potential.

They DO sign up players for overs, but when they are informed of potential juniors, they don't return calls !!! I can't believe Beetson signed up those players Wheel recommeded to OUR club, but never got a return phone call !!! I know I've said this before, but that totally bemuses me.

not too long. Manly have overpaid on Kite so far..so there is one. I thought going by the above it was a common occurence.

Now, about Witt & the etc's? is he another example and who are the etc's?

Then you have Moanaghan getting paid $240k though that was because he was foisted on us. Still, if someone had balls .....

Witt isn't costing us that much, neither did most of these players. Donelly would be the highest paid dud.

Walker was on reasonable money, but he performed well until he got the snorts late in the season.

Witts contract is subsidised by Parra, Walker was on around $150k from what I heard and imo he was worth it.

The others excluding Donnelly were not on massive salaries.

Every club buys players that do not crack NRL, wish all players Manly purchased did but sadly it is not the case and never will be.

He remains with Newcastle for loyalty and lifestyle more than money.

There are a few players like that you know.

Mata is correct from what I have read. Whilst I don't know the exact figures, M Monaghan is being paid more. More than Buderus, more than Minichello etc etc.....
We paid WAY overs for him....and he aint better than Priddis, Ennis, Buderus, Riddell, Smith, Payne, Gorrell etc etc....Delmege crippled our player buysing capacity regarding the cap on this one.

That said, he DID save us from financial destruction.
