Recruit options - Big & Small ??

I'd be happy with:

+ Anderson for Akuila's wing (costs nothing)
+ Elgey for Hodkinson / Croker
+ Cartwright for Lane (project LIKE Lane)

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Jorge Taufua
03. Brian Kelly
04. Dylan Walker
05. Jade Anderson
06. Kane Elgey
07. Daly Cherry-Evans
08. Addin Fonua-Blake
09. Apisai Koroisou
10. Marty Taupau
11. Joel Thompson
12. Curtis Sironen
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Manase Fainu
15. Kelepi Tanginoa
16. Taniela Paseka
17. Bryce Cartwright

That is a damned tough-assed squad who could match it with the best of them.

Tom Wright has more upside then Elgey just in size and pace , Suli can only get better .
Suli is not a backline player mate. Completely lacks in pace. Between he, and Parker, I'd say they are.predominantly the reasons weve been rode over the past 2 weeks!!

Suli has done absolutely nothing to impress me so far. All he's done is score a front rowers barge over try from 5m out.

He looks stronger than Josh Addo Carr & look how he gets on in the Storm team!

possibly ... but that may be deceiving ... or man strength V youth strength .... either way I can only go on my own observations and limited knowledge ... next year will hopefully be a break-out year for him ...

Great team Ryan..........maybe start with Paseka & AFB on the bench. Swap DCE & Elgey. I think DCE is better suited to 5/8.

I like that Team only ?? is Elgey and our depth.

Tom Wright, Suli, Sipley, Amone, Cade cust Tevita Funa & Haumole Olakauátu will all surely be in out top 30 squad.

Big Wraps on Jaiden Tarrant also.

Yes but Ryan that would require Dylan to actually pass him the ball.

When Walker was on fire last year he made some of the best passes to Uate that I had seen in quite a while. When he's on his game Walker uses his wingmen well.

Backline is far from the worst in the NRL. T Trbojevic, Taufua, Walker, Kelly and Cherry-Evans are pretty darn good players. This backline was the same one that was sitting top 4 last year at points minus Green and Uate.
On paper, they're not in reality. Although their atrocious defence and lack of variety put them in (or very, very close to) that spot. If the forwards aren't the problem, then the backs are, and there's no way around that fact no matter what maroon and white coloured glasses we look through as fans.

If we have all them in our top 30 we will most certainly collect our first wooden spoon.

Forwards and backs are great. Problem for us is injuries, conistentcy and depth. Coaching will also go along way to fixing this.

Our team is near full strength. Fainu has been a near exact replacement of Api, Parker is as useful as Uate, Sironen was doing nothing, Croker was pretty bad as well. This is it. Lussick and that were in reserve grade, and wasn't performing there let alone would he have been a point of difference in the first grade side.

Good Forwards, Shocking backs (two or three players ruin the backline), Shocking depth, Decent Halves pairing in terms of cohesion though great halves on paper.

The only somewhat notable out is Sironen, although that still means jack if he's the only absense of some significance, it's not like having one player out can cause losses such as 42-10, 56-14 or the conceding of 22 or so late points against Penrith.

Actually, I've changed who I'd like now. My 3 recruits are:

Daniel Tupou: to replace Akuila
Kane Elgey: to replace Croker
Bryce Cartwright: to replace Lane

X Suli needs 12 months in Reggie's to condition
X Parker needs 12 months in Reggie's vs. men

Primary Depth:
Backs: M. Wright, Parker, Suli, Funa, Anderson
Halves/Hooker: T. Wright, Hodkinson
Middle Forwards: Perrett, Sipley
Edge Forwards: Winterstein, Gosi,

Plus two call ups from NSW Cup to make the 30.

I don't agree mate. Fainu is no where near Api as a player, Sirro was playing great alongside Daly forming a lethal combo. Parker is slow compared to Uate with no attacking threats. Plus all our players have struggled to have a season without injury. Form is temporary but class is permanent. This same squad will sit top in 2019 if we get a good run with injuries and 0 off field dramas.

Agree to disagree, although I will add that Uate was performing nearly as bad as Parker, rushed up in defence all the time without ever getting the man, he's a better option in attack although even there his hands are questionable. Siro was good last season although in the few games he played this year he did nothing. Stats wise his involvement was well under what it should've been. Was averaging 71m a game with 8.2m per run, his second phase play was still strong though

Tweed heads won 5 straight when he was dropped from the Titans. If you actually talk to anyone at tweed you would know that they dont want to lose him. It's the titans that want to move him on.

If you recall Api was considered by most on this forum as not being up to standard when he first started at Manly. Fain is a kid. He will develop into a much better hooker/half than he is at present.

Api is one of the best in the game and was far more developed then Fainu.
