Seibs might have been reluctant to change our defensive line… our centres had the drizzle locked down all night (short of kicks and the Hughes/coates try) and TT2 is a make-shift forward at best (for now)…

Big ups for the backrowers and halves, too: Burbo was excellent and Waddell ran hard and made some great tackles as well. Brooks and Cherry both good in attack and defence.

100%. Except Garrick's chase did have a result. - Meaney missed the kick and we win by 2.

3. Taukeiaho - that was the sort of tough, relentless performance from a prop we haven't had in years.
2. Garrick - inspirational effort to chase down both their wingers saved 2 points. Took the tough hitups all over the field.
1. Koula - has come of age. Our most dangerous player whenever he is on the ball.
Jake, Ben and Jazz deserved points. So did Brooks and yes, $CE - the tackle of his career.

Probably every man who played deserved points. I came up with:

Taukeiaho - was huge for us out there.
Brooks - thought he had a very influential game sweet pass to put Koula into space for a try.
Quack Quack Waddell - I don't think he likes playing 2nd row nor would we normally play him there. But credit to the guy he gives it everything and is a fine team man. Big effort in defence including a critical late one when DCE came up a bit early.

Difficult choice as they all deserve points:

3) Reuben - excellent game from a true winger (please stay there) and got the 3 pts for his huge effort to run down Coates
2) TKO - lead the forwards with big metres and stats
1) Jazz - 46 tackles and played 74 mins.

Very closely followed by Jurbo, Brooks, DCE, and the rest of the team!

Funny that , a bit like most players who aren’t superstars from the get go.

still on a high from that game ,so proud of that effort by all of them ,hard to split the 3 points between TKO and Ruebs but

3 TKO without those hard runs and the leadership he is providing in spades esp to the forwards, I don't think we win
2 Ruebs- was in everything and that chase where he was centimetres from stopping that Coates try was outstanding commitment well done Ruebs
1 Jazz a great knock at 9 all those tackles and pretty good service and again great commitment to the Manly cause

other outstanding's Jake , Hoppa, Brooksie, DCE, Koula and the Duck .I also thought TKO helped lift Lodge for one of his best performances .Now we just need to be consistent !!!!.Those Dogs will be wanting payback from last year so we need to lift again to dominate them like we did the Scum,

I’ve never thought about it, but you are spot on with the Jamie Lyon comparison. Both classy and with a very similar running style. Still a long way to go but could be anything.

3. Brooks - threw the last pass for two tries and also chased Coates from the inside herding him to the sideline where Hoppa did his stuff
2. TKO - probably his best game for us
1. Jurbo - a vintage tackling perf and has to get on the podium for the water bottle kick!
