Alternatively nein could just tape him saying common league terms, and "Andrew" and "billy", and play the samples back at appropriate times during the game.

Actually, if they were played at appropriate times we'd smell a rat. Best if his voice describes things totally unconnected with what is occurring on the field.

For example: "coming up after the game - Brubaker, starting Robert Redford as Brubaker".

I stand by that...but the contract doesn't mean he is calling the game for the next 5.

Nine revealed the contract was thrashed out over a sausage sandwich during the week and Warren said he is thrilled to continue his long standing association with the rugby league broadcaster.

But while the five-year deal keeps Warren at Nine, there’s no guarantee he will see out the deal as strictly a commentator.

Blockers starting to get on my nerves...he starts nearly every sentence with, "I'll tell you what......" then makes a captain obvious statement.

A pet peeve for me is blocker and his over use of, "That was a stupid penalty". Fancy that from a bloke that received a suspension for back chatting and patting Eddie Ward on the head.

I've noticed the other commentators don't even bother to respond to his annoying questions/observations when calling games.
